Take into consideration that this is an AMD sponsored title and, therefore, all you're going to read should be taken with a grain of salt:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080 may have trouble with Godfall in 4K/Ultra, requires 12GB VRAM according to devs
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/nvidia-geforce-rtx3080-godfall-4k-ultra-12gb-vram/
AMD has released a new video for Godfall in which Counterplay Games details its key tech features. And, according to the developers, Godfall will require 12GB of VRAM in 4K/Ultra in order to play smoothly.
Now as you all know, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080 comes with 10GB of VRAM. NVIDIA has stated that this amount of VRAM is enough for both current-gen and next-gen games. Thus, it will be interesting to see whether the RTX3080 will hit any VRAM limitations in Godfall at 4K/Ultra.
Counterplay Games will be using DXR – via DirectX 12 Ultimate – in order to add support for Ray Tracing. The team will be using Ray Tracing in order to enhance the game’s shadows. This will be the only thing that will be improved via RT, so don’t expect better Reflections, Ambient Occlusion or Global Illumination effects.
Thoughts?

Reminds me a bit to the Fury situation, just with AMD and NVidia switched around.
But I'll guess we'll know more the cards and games are out.

Raytracing seems to be destroying GPU performance for minimal gain in visual quality in most RT implementations. Which is why I'm not too bothered about RT atm.

Activision Blizzard made $1.2B in microtransactions in the last quarter
https://www.pcgamer.com/activision-blizzard-made-dollar12b-in-microtransactions-in-the-last-quarter/
Video games are always big business, but especially in a year when most of the world's population is trying to stay at home as much as possible. Last week Activision-Blizzard revealed its financial results for the period between July and September, and it went better than expected—the company made over $1.95B in revenue, up from $1.2B for the same quarter 2019.
The biggest driver for that success is a staggering $1.2B in microtransactions, which mostly came from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. The monthly active users for both grew over ten-fold during the year, according to the report, with sales from microtransactions across PC and consoles growing four times from last year. Of a total of 30 million active players across all Activision Blizzard titles, 111 million come from the Call of Duty franchise, with Modern Warfare holding the title of COD game with the highest first-year sales. The only game beating COD in monthly active users is Candy Crush, which the publisher also owns since their acquisition of developer King back in 2016.

Steam's payment system crashed an hour before the Halloween sale ended
https://www.pcgamer.com/steams-payment-system-crashed-an-hour-before-the-halloween-sale-ended/
Steam's payment system appears to have crashed, with less than an hour to go before the Halloween sale ends. The problems were first reported on Reddit, after which I went to Steam and tried to buy a 59p platformer. The transaction hung for a while, before returning the line: "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance. "
Update (11:30 am PT): The problem seems to be resolved now, as we've successfully made a purchase. We'll keep an eye on it.

Tuesday news, part two:
Destiny 2's mysterious distress call is not a puzzle, Bungie says
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-players-are-trying-to-decipher-a-mysterious-distress-call/
One of the reasons Destiny 2 has had such a long run as a service game is that it periodically surprises the community with weird puzzles and ARGs, some of which are fiendishly complex (and some of which are brain-achingly frustrating). We don't know what the latest one, launched today, will end up being—but rest assured, the guardian brain trust is already on the case.
Update: The speculation, theorizing, and datamining was fun while it lasted, but Bungie has now said that there's nothing to see here—the image and audio is simply some hype leading into the launch of the Beyond Light expansion. Sorry, everyone.

In April 2019, Blizzard shared some insights into how it was using machine learning to combat abusive chat in games like Overwatch. It's a very complicated process, obviously, but it appears to be working out: Blizzard president J. Allen Brack said in a new Fireside Chat video that it has resulted in an "incredible decrease" in toxic behavior.

It's the same demo that released on the Nintendo Switch, and it's a generous chunk of game time.

I do think there's a certain level of nonsense when Nvidias new "Flagship" has less Vram capacity than the 2 generation old 1080 Ti. It really was a card for the ages.
As for the 12GB of Vram requirement, I still doubt it's gonna be much of an issue. When Nvidia had that whole 970 3.5GB of Vram nonsense, unless you went SLI, Nvidia optimized the drivers well enough that the Vram never became the problem even against it's RX 390 competitor with 8GB of Vram. Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not that will be the case this time as well. The rumoured 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti should be the cards to fix any Vram concerns so it might be better to wait for those if you are going to keep the card for a long time or go AMD.
