One of the reasons Destiny 2 has had such a long run as a service game is that it periodically surprises the community with weird puzzles and ARGs, some of which are fiendishly complex (and some of which are brain-achingly frustrating). We don't know what the latest one, launched today, will end up being—but rest assured, the guardian brain trust is already on the case.
Update: The speculation, theorizing, and datamining was fun while it lasted, but Bungie has now said that there's nothing to see here—the image and audio is simply some hype leading into the launch of the Beyond Light expansion. Sorry, everyone.

In April 2019, Blizzard shared some insights into how it was using machine learning to combat abusive chat in games like Overwatch. It's a very complicated process, obviously, but it appears to be working out: Blizzard president J. Allen Brack said in a new Fireside Chat video that it has resulted in an "incredible decrease" in toxic behavior.

Dragon Quest XI S- Definitive Edition is a reissue of the 2018 decent-albeit-safe JRPG, bringing a fully orchestral soundtrack (much demanded), a retro-styled 2D mode and much more. It doesn't release until December, but if you're keen to dive in there's now a ten hour demo available on Steam. It's the same demo that released on the Nintendo Switch, and it's a generous chunk of game time.

BlizzConline will be free for everyone

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic put the kibosh on just about every in-person gaming event this year, including BlizzCon, the annual weekend-long celebration of all things Blizzard. The studio said when it pulled the plug that it was trying to pull together an online replacement, and in September it confirmed that the awkwardly-named BlizzConline will run February 19-20, 2021.

Orwell's Animal Farm drops on Steam this December 10
