Will wait for my CPU/GPU upgrade first before getting a new monitor/TV. But yeah will give impressions if I get it. Not sure if I trust myself with an OLED though to he honest lol

Can imagine gaming with HDR, VRR 4k @120hz, ultra fast response and raytracing *eyegasm*

Happened to our Athlon 64 3000+ PC. We suspected some special screws or trick because we couldn't open it. When the PC died (well, the GeForce FX 5500 did) and a technician came by to check and open the case  he had to ask for a powersaw to open the damn case because the OEM who made the thing bolted and welded the case shut apart from the ventilation holes! There was no way to open either side panel, it needed to be cut open. No wonder they went bankrupt shortly after...

I think I have found a good laptop. The HP Envy x360 with Ryzen 4500U. There are a few slight drawbacks to it but I think it's a great package for the price. I did not pick a convertible on purpose, it's just what it is. It's 900€ for the 1TB SSD 8GB RAM version.

I'm gonna order it from Amazon since it's in store and I can just send it back if I hate it. I don't think there can be muich wrong with it since I won't find much that is cheaper and will still be enough for my requirements.

I think the by far biggest drawback is the proprietary power connector. With my Yoga it was a USB Type C I could use to charge my phone, which was so convenient when traveling.

Yeah, the prices for the Ryzen-powered HP Envy X360 are really cheap for what you get. The one I picked for my wife is 200€ more expensive at 1099€, but comes with 16GB RAM and a Ryzen 7 4700U, which is still a great package.

Like Viv has said, if/when you end buying the TV, I hope you put your impressions, hinch. It's ridiculous that a TV can end being not only cheaper but also better than a proper monitor, but this is the world we live in.

And talking about Viv, I'm sorry that you couldn't fix your laptop,

Regarding the news and the leak posted by Yuri (thanks, mate!), the Suicide Squad game sounds rubish.
As for the Ampere leak, i wish the graph was more useful than that one that includes heavily overclocked cards. The only numbers worth looking at are that it's 30.98% better than a stock RTX 2080 Ti and 22.14% better than a stock Nvidia Titan RTX. Not bad if we're looking at the 3090!

Here's some apple news. While I personally don't care about Macbooks/iMacs very much, the move going from x86 to Arm is pretty weird even for them. Specially since it sounds like it will include their "Pro" series as well. If Intel continued with their quad core nonsense, I could see how maybe Arm could make some sense but with Ryzen competition and Intel upping their core count, this certainly could be a DoA move even for Apple. I guess they care so much about their eco system that they want to lock it down even to the point where the only reason you would buy one of their PCs is to develop for iOS and use their own software. Where as now, you could say that a person that would buy a Mac would want a laptop that gives them the benefits of both Mac OS and Windows.

After 15 Years, Apple Prepares to Break Up With Intel

Least with this and Ryzen, Intel should be starting to sweat.

They may have gotten tired of developing two versions of their OS and have decided to fully unify their software and hardware ecoystem. And given that they design their own ARM chips, they can save themselves money (that I'd be surprised if it reaches the end customer).

We'll see if that works for them or if they'll have to backtrack in a couple of years.

Yea pretty much. I'd be curious to see how many more companies drop software support due to this move.

Ampere performance doesn't look terrible, especially considering that the clock should be a bit higher.
