Moreover, World of Warcraft made $161M in August following the release of its “Battle of Azeroth” expansion, not including all pre-sales in the months leading up to launch. Subscribers for WoW West also hit its highest point since 2014.
On the other hand, League of Legends seems to be heading towards its worst performing year since 2014 as its revenue is down 21% compared to the same time period in 2017.

Following last week's terrible news that Telltale Games has let most of its employees go as part of a "majority studio closure", there's been a lot of discussion about the games that have been canned in the midst of that.
One of those games is Stranger Things, based on the hugely successful Netflix series, and first announced back in June. We reported yesterday that Netflix still wants a game to go ahead and, in a statement, said that they'd look for "other options." But it seems we may have a glimpse at how Telltale's game would have looked, thanks to video clips leaked on Reddit and 4chan.

If despite current events you're still thinking of picking up the Final Season of The Walking Dead, then as of today you might find this difficult, as Telltale is currently de-listing the product from all storefronts.
Techraptor initially reported the discovery, which was made by Twitter user Pixelburst. It appears the beleaguered company has removed the game from sale on various storefronts including Steam and GoG. The latter’s store-page for the Final Season now reads “Coming Soon” while the former only offers a downloadable demo of the Final Season. Pixelburst also observed that Episode 2 is still listed for people who own the Season Pass.

Sony finally allows Fortnite cross-play between PS4, PC, Xbox, and Switch

Earlier this summer, Fortnite players discovered that if they played the game on a PS4, they couldn't use the same Epic account on a Switch. And then they got very mad, and we learned that once again Sony was blocking cross-play with its console competitors, which as Steven said a couple weeks ago, hurts PC players, too. All the peer pressure seems to have worked, though, as Sony has finally changed its mind.
An open beta starting today will allow PS4 players to play with users on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and Mac, as well as enable cross-platform progression, so they can take their account between PC, Switch, and PS4 if they want.

Just a few months prior to Windows 10's launch, Microsoft's Terry Myerson, then head of the company's operating system group, made an ambitious prediction—Windows 10 would reach 1 billion devices "in two to three years." Now just a little over three years later, Windows 10 is on 700 million devices, 300 million short of that original goal.
Microsoft offered up the updated the statistic at its Ignite 2018 conference earlier this week, Neowin reports. Myerson had previously said that Windows 10 was approaching the 700 million devices mark, making the statement back in March when announcing his departure from Microsoft. The last official figure was 600 million, back in November of last year. That means Windows 10 has expanded to 100 million more devices in the past 10 months. At the current pace, it will take another two and half years to reach 1 billion.

This mod also allows Quiet to have different hair types and colors depending on the file you choose.
This Nude mod for Metal Gear Solid 5 was originally released in August but got updated yesterday. Its latest version looks better than its initial release which is why we’ve decided to share it with you.

An ambitious project to recreate the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek: The Next Generation has been forced to halt development following a cease-and-desist letter from broadcasting network CBS.
Originally reported by Eurogamer, the project, which was known as Stage-9, was the brainchild of a British Star Trek fan going by the name “Scragnog.” “I originally created Stage-9 in 2016 as a piece of fan-art,” he says in a recently posted YouTube video explaining why the project has stopped. “To be able to walk around on the Enterprise-D always excited me.”
Stage-9 was built in Unreal, and as of its latest version, was a meticulous recreation of the Enterprise’s interior, matching both the layout and the interior style of the starship with impressive accuracy, and letting players eplore areas of the ship such as the Bridge, Main Eningeering, and Picard’s ready-room.

ArenaNet confirms Guild Wars 2 Gem Store purchases are disabled in Belgium

Guild Wars 2 may have become the latest game to fall victim to increased aggressiveness in gambling law enforcement, as players in Belgium can no longer access the game's Gem Store. Update: ArenaNet has issued a statement confirming that it has disabled Guild Wars 2 gem purchases in Belgium.
"In order to conform to changes in Belgian law, purchases of gems, the Ultimate Edition, and the Ultimate Edition upgrade have been disabled for residents of Belgium," communications manager Gaile Gray wrote. "We are continuing to investigate more flexible solutions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our players."

Last week, NVIDIA released the NVIDIA GeForce 411.63 WHQL that added official support to its new graphics cards, the RTX 2080Ti and the RTX 2080. That driver was also meant to offer optimal performance in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4, however the green team released today a new driver that focuses on these games.
Going into slightly more details, the NVIDIA GeForce 411.70 WHQL driver provides the optimal gaming experience for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Forza Horizon 4, and FIFA 19.
Now I don’t really know whether there are any meaningful performance differences between this and the 411.63 WHQL. In fact, the release notes are exact the same with those for the 411.63 WHQL driver, meaning that there aren’t any new fixes or improvements.

Discord has shared the opening salvo of its 'First on Discord' games that'll launch exclusively, for a limited time, on its new storefront later this year.
We already knew about Bad North, which I've contemplated picking up on Switch for a few months now while the wait for a PC version goes on. There are six others. First of all, there's real-time card game Minion Master (trailer here) which features co-op, and is free of charge on Discord—I'm not sure how the 'first' element applies here, since the game is in Early Access as well, but you have to pay for it on Steam.

The RPCS3 team has announced that all the Ratchet and Clank games that were released exclusively on Playstation 3 can now run on the latest version of RPCS3. RPCS3 is the best Playstation 3 emulator that is currently under development and its incredible progress has really amazed us.
As the team noted, by clamping texture offsets Eladash fixed crashes which made Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction, Into The Nexus, All 4 One, and Full Frontal Assault go in-game for the first time. These games are not playable yet due to major performance issues (and we don’t know whether they can be played from start to finish in this version of RPCS3).
Still, the fact that they can now go in-game and run is incredible. Furtheremore, Ratch & Clank A Crack in Time now progresses past the first level, and vertex data streaming changes – made by kd-11 – fixed issues with HUD and menu graphics in Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty.

Perhaps the most interesting thing is a special, free constructed deck even in the singleton style—meaning a deck can only have one copy of any given card. Further, for those who play paper Magic, the game’s physical retail products will now contain codes that can be redeemed for MTG Arena cards, a tactic we’ve not yet seen implemented in online card games at this scale.

CD Projekt announced today that Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, the 30-hour Witcher-based RPG that somehow grew out of a Witcher 3 mini-game, is now available for preorder. The studio also ran down the bonus content that will come with the game, although co-founder Marcin Iwiński clarified that preordering is not necessary to get it.

NCsoft announced earlier this month that Carbine Studios, and its sci-fi MMO Wildstar, are being closed. Carbine has now announced that the shutdown will come on November 28, and will be preceded by "season in-game events" running on an accelerated schedule, so players can enjoy them all one last time.
