Monster Hunter World has sold 2 million copies on the PC, World of Warcraft made $161M in August

SuperData Arcade has shared its monthly report, stating that Monster Hunter World has shared 2 million copies on the PC. According to the report, Monster Hunter World took first place in this month’s top grossing Premium PC rankings, knocking PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds down to second.
Moreover, World of Warcraft made $161M in August following the release of its “Battle of Azeroth” expansion, not including all pre-sales in the months leading up to launch. Subscribers for WoW West also hit its highest point since 2014.
On the other hand, League of Legends seems to be heading towards its worst performing year since 2014 as its revenue is down 21% compared to the same time period in 2017.

Last month, we informed you about a special offer for Battlefield 1. For one week, Electronic Arts and DICE have offered its Premium Pass for free to everyone. The Battlefield 4 Premium Pass features five Expansion Packs and gives instant access to 20 new maps, 48 exclusive assignments, new modes and more.

Epic Games today released its final batch of Paragon assets to the Unreal Engine 4 developer community free of charge, with a total of 19 AAA-quality Hero characters valued at over $5 million in development investment.
As the press release reads, this final round follows two previous releases in March and August through which developers can download Paragon packs to use in their own UE4 projects with no strings attached. To date, Epic has released more than $17 million worth of content from its high-end multiplayer online battle arena game, including dozens of characters with their custom animation Blueprints, visual effects and audio dialogue, along with environment set pieces and sample maps.

 

Kongregate's new storefront Kartridge enters open beta in November

Online gaming portal, Kongregate, publisher of various PC and web games, will be making its new downloadable platform Kartridge open to the public on November 1.
The downloadable platform was first announced earlier this year. As well as operating as a storefront, Kartridge will have a global chat system in place and will reward you for playtime, giving you certain perks as you level up your account. Players can earn experience by completing certain achievements and collecting badges. As your account earns levels you'll unlock rewards that could include a discount or a free game.

If you've ever wondered whether Valve's reputation for taking so damn long to do anything is overblown, today's "Controller Gaming on PC" blog post sheds an interesting spot of light on the reality of the situation.
"Controller compatibility in PC games used to be managed only by the individual game developers, meaning a game supported a predetermined set of hardware and players selected from these prescribed input options. In 2015 we began an experiment to find out what happens when the community is less constrained," it says.
"Three years later, the Steam Input experiment is starting to bear interesting results."

Talented modder ‘JulioNIB’ has released a new mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 that brings the Predator with most of its powers to it. While this is a WIP version, players can already download it and play as the ultimate hunter.
Now the bad news here is that this mod behind a Patreon-wall, meaning that you will have to become Patreons in order to download it. Basically, almost all of JulioNIB’s mods right now are behind a Patreon-wall so yeah, it kind of sucks for all those that were able to enjoy his mods for free all these past few years/months.
