https://www.pcgamer.com/guild-wars-2-players-in-belgium-can-no-longer-buy-gems-from-the-gem-store/
Guild Wars 2 may have become the latest game to fall victim to increased aggressiveness in gambling law enforcement, as players in Belgium can no longer access the game's Gem Store. As explained on the Guild Wars forums and Reddit, players began experience trouble purchasing gems last week, and Belgium is no longer listed as a billable location.
Update: ArenaNet has issued a statement confirming that it has disabled Guild Wars 2 gem purchases in Belgium.
"In order to conform to changes in Belgian law, purchases of gems, the Ultimate Edition, and the Ultimate Edition upgrade have been disabled for residents of Belgium," communications manager Gaile Gray wrote. "We are continuing to investigate more flexible solutions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our players."

https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzcon-virtual-ticket-holders-will-get-to-play-a-world-of-warcraft-classic-demo/
World of Warcraft: Classic is apparently making more progress than Blizzard has let on, because the company announced today that the recreation of the MMO as it first existed in 2004 will be playable at BlizzCon 2018. Don't worry though, those who purchase a Virtual Ticket can also download it and play at home.

Unique card-RTS game Prismata now has a free-to-play mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/unique-card-rts-game-prismata-now-has-a-free-to-play-mode/
'Non-collectible card game' Prismata is coming along according to plan, and that plan involves it launching its free-to-play component today. Prismata is a hybrid of card game, board game, and RTS all about managing the order in which you play cards versus how your opponent plays their cards. Its strategy is like picking a build order in an RTS, but one where you know what your opponent has on the table—it doesn’t fit easily into contemporary videogame genre conventions.

https://www.pcgamer.com/dragon-prince-game/
The Dragon Prince is a Netflix animated series set in a fantasy world in which elves and humans stand on the brink of war. It premiered earlier this month and was apparently quite good, holding a 100 percent score across eight reviews at Rotten Tomatoes. It will also, at some point in the future, be made into a Dragon Prince game.

Here are all the major game studios that have closed in the past year
https://www.pcgamer.com/here-are-all-the-major-game-studios-that-have-closed-in-the-past-year/
Telltale Games' expected closure adds a tally to the now 10 studios that have closed completely in the last 12 months. 275 Telltale employees were laid off suddenly and without severance last Friday, though 25 remain for the time being to "fulfill the company's obligations to its board and partners," Telltale said in a less-than-encouraging statement about its future.
These are the studios we've lost in the last 12 months. Where known, I've noted the number of people who lost their jobs.

https://www.pcgamer.com/mark-of-the-ninja-remastered-will-be-out-on-october-9/
The stealthy murder game Mark of the Ninja is really good, but it's also getting up there in years. To address that, Klei announced back in March that a remastered version was in the works and would be out later this year. Now we've got a more properly detailed look at what the updated version will deliver, and a release date of October 9.

Fortnite season 6's v6.00 patch notes and spooky opening trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-season-6s-v600-patch-notes-and-spooky-opening-trailer/
As Fortnite season 6 arrives, Epic has released the patch notes for the v6.00 update, with map changes, pets, new consumables and a Halloween-ish theme that's been dubbed 'Darkness Rises' by Epic.
"Islands floating, crops growing, Storm approaching," is how Epic describes the changes to the map. You can get a little sample of that in the trailer above: now you've got Loot Lake's now-floating island to explore, a haunted castle, corn fields, Wailing Woods and corrupted areas. They also tease more new places out there to find yourself.

>>And here are the leaked skins of Season 6.

https://www.pcgamer.com/just-cause-4-trailer-introduces-ricos-rival-amid-many-explosions/
Apparently Just Cause 4 will have a story that goes beyond "and then a bridge blew up". The latest trailer introduces Gabriela Morales, "leader of the infamous Black Hand, and Rico's toughest adversary". It sounds as though Rico and Gabriela will lead rival armies against one another. In addition the story will see Rico Rodriguez land in the open world Solis zone "to hunt down the truth about his past, at any cost".

Future Assassin's Creed games will probably let you pick your character's gender too
https://www.pcgamer.com/future-assassins-creed-games-will-probably-let-you-pick-your-characters-gender-too/
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the first game in the series that lets you choose the gender of your main character, letting you pick between Kassandra and Alexios. It sounds like Ubisoft Quebec doesn't want to go back from that with future games.

Fallout 76 will not support cross-play
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-will-not-support-cross-play/
Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard said earlier in the summer that the studio would love to have cross-platform play in Fallout 76, but "Sony isn't being as helpful as we want them to be" in making it happen. Today, Sony dropped a surprise announcement that it will allow Fortnite cross-play between the PS4 and other consoles. Could Fallout 76 also be a beneficiary of Sony's new spirit of openness and cooperation?
Sorry, no.
