I don't like "movie" games. I'd rather watch dramas than play them.
Visual fidelity is like a key chain to a toddler. That's the way I think.

One of my most played game recently is Crackdown 2. Very interactive and non-scripted. It's a video game splendor in my opinion. You control the events and the environment react to you. It's not a silver screen wannabe, which I don't condone.

You're acting like movie games are the only option available. Some people believe narrative endears people to characters. Sony has had games with no major story where the battles tell the story for you such as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, so to pigeonhold them for expanding into other genres and pushing the narrative potential of games isnt hurting but helping the industry.

You skipped my last sentence I guess.

Videogames today have surpassed the narrative of motion pictures by adding the emotional experience of adding to human to the equation, thus expanding the hours and the intrinsic value for the hobbyist. Remember the days when games were licensed but always managed to lag behind movies? Super Mario in the next gen will most likely be a CG Mario and Knack is already pushing those boundaries that Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank paved the way for. As I said before, Sony has proven their studios can create games that tell stories through gameplay.

You don't need to condone it, if you don't like it just accept its existence. Halo is doing the same thing and so is Gears of War.

I'm sure it will come to PS4 a year later just like most of the 360's "exclusives".

Ain't that the truth.

It looks like MS is the only company that moneyhatts, not that I care.

I'll be more than happy to see Titanfall go to Son¥ platform after all this interest. It's good to see that Xbox is doing fine in terms of games, we won't make petitions or go up in arms in the interwebs don't worry.

MS needs to make their first parties draw people not just third parties. They screw it up for everyone when they do that. I played Gears of War and used to brag to all my friends who were PS3 about how great it was and they let me know that MS paid to keep it away from Sony. I was like man MS was screwed up for doing that, everyone who likes TPS should get their hands on this, especially if they were fans of Winback and Killswitch. I played all the exclusives and timed exclusives for third party they money hatted at the beginning of the gen.

They are doing both and you know it. Titanfall has hype and promise. Its current. You buy it now on Xbox or you buy it on PC. One less sale for any PS4 version. So what if it eventually goes to it.......your getting scraps when we have moved on (or allready played it on PC).

But MS 1st party is def improving

You can make that 67 nominations and 14 wins as Titanfall will be on PC so it is not exclusive.

But its exclusively not on PS4, and thats the most improtant detail

Not sure why you are complaining.  I'd prefer to play it day 1 than 6 months to a year later.  Also this game is relying on cloud features for certain things which is why it is being touted to have X1 being the best version.  Everytime TitanFall gets mentioned you have a barage of comments like this yet nothing has been confirmed yet.  If it does then yay for sony gamers but until then these comments are annoying to say the least.  Either way it isnt going to stop a ton of people buying this game when it gets released.  Timed exclusives always sell more than the counter part.  And yes many people including me are buying the X1 for this very game so apparently it worked.

So you would prefer X number of exclusives Day 1, but you can't play # number of other "exclusives", or would you rather have # number of exclusives day 1, and you have to wait 6 months for # number of other "exclusives."

Makes sense, in your case you get half the exclusives, in my case I get the bulk of them, but I have to wait for half.

---

Also Titanfall is available on PC and 360. A PS4 is $100 less then a 360, and wouldya know what? A 360 is often only $130 on sale, less if you buy a used one. Still makes a lot more sense to buy a PS4, you know get shorthanded when exclusives stop flowing in 3-4 years.

You're right a ton of people will buy this game, for the One, PC, 360, and likely the PS4 too.

You are implying that ALL of Xbox One exclusives are timed. No they are not. So far it is none.
There is a single game we are speculating about, but that's it.

You will never be able to play Forza, Halo, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct, Ryse or Fable on the PS4, will you?

As I said, enjoy it in Spring 2015 (or never) on PS4 and let Xbox One user enjoy it in 9 months from now.

So I might have to wait 6 months to enjoy Titanfall (unless I buy it on 360), but I will enjoy it. One owners will miss out on a lot more games then PS4 owners (especially those with PC's who can play Fable, Halo, and every single Remedy game ever released, without owning an X-Box).

This ain't the 360 and MS seems actively invested in both 1st party and 3rd party exclusives. Even if they are timed, the hype and gamers would have moved on by then.If you wanna compare one on one, X1 would in theory offer a better games package then PS4. Both have great 1st party studios (Sony has more though), but MS is clearly more invested in 3rd party exclusives, both timed and actual. And they love getting Xbox games that share a PC version.

A PS4 gamer would need a PC to play what a X1 can play, essentially saying that PS4 can't stand up on its own. A X1 would have a winning combination of 1st/3rd party exclusives, and staying current with yearly 3rd party timed exclusives.

You can just own a gaming PC and "cheat", thus saying you don't need a X1. But then you'd be telling ppl that you need 2 platforms to do what 1 can do on its own.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks of this as a positive? All this means is MS is spending money on -1 game rather than +1 game, which I think any gamer should be against regardless of which of the 3 does it.

This generation is starting out no different than the current one did with the exception of Black Tusk's game and a couple other studios. Hopefully they show the games off at Gamescom. Their purchasing habits and developmental management has left them with very little identity. Yes its starting out with great games but on both sides of the board. Don't really care for Crytek games and Quantum Break will will most likely be on PC. PC/exclusives galore just like the gen before that and the gen before that.

So much trolling in here.

From people who should know better.

I'm starting to think the Xbox One is going to do a lot better than quite a few people expect - judging by the amount of attention every single post about it seems to get from people who express no interest in it, explicitly state they'll never get one, and that to buy it for an exclusive you're excited about (usually the reason one buys a console) is foolish.

I think their launch lineup looks fantastic, and covers a nice breadth of genre/gametypes.

Best game I have played this year is State of Decay, a new MS IP exclusive to the 360. People who think MS abandoned the console just need to open their eyes.

That's not even a retail game, lol. Even when you talk about Arcade games, the best Arcade game ever made IMO was Shadow Complex, but I hear Journey for PS3 is really good.

I don't know, I guess I am old fashioned but I play video games based on the games, not silly qualifiers. I have put more time into State of Decay from the XBLA than any retail game I have bought this year, though Last of Us will eclipse it eventually just due to MP. The bottom line is it's a game MS secured, bought the IP, and published it for their console.

Well, good for you, but in general an Arcade game should not be given the same weight as a retail game. I loved Shadow Complex, but I would never pay $60 for it.

Every now and then there will be an arcade game, or a niche retail game, which is really loved by a small group. I mean, I still play Mario Party 2, but would I tell people that N64 is better then PS1 just because a game I specifically like is on it? No.

It's called being unbiased when comparing games, arcade games just aren't to the same level as a AAA retail game.

Microsoft abandoned the 360 years before replacing it?

Yup.

What did Microsoft release of 360 in 2013? A crappy Gears of War game, which is really bad compared to the original trilogy, and not even developed by Epic. Plus a remake of a game which is playable on the 360. So 1 game

2012 - 1 Halo game, 1 very short, Forza game, developed by a different studio. So 2 games. +Kinect Star Wars +Dance Central 3 +Kinect Rush +Fable: Journey  +NikePlus

2011 - Gears 3, A remake of another game playable on the 360, Forza 4 - So 2 games +Kinect Sports Season 2 +Kinect Disenyland Adventures +Dance Central 2 +The Gunstringer

2010 - Fable, Crackdown, Halo - 3 games +Kinect Sports +Kinect Adventures +Alan Wake +Ninety Nine Nights 2 +Kinectimals

2009 - 2x Halo, Forza, a JRPG, and Race Pro - 5 games +Halo ODST +Halo Wars +Ninja Blade

2008 - 8 games

2007 - 6 games

Yea, 2011 - 2013, 3 years, saw as many games as 2009 and earlier and prior saw annually. If not less, kinda neglected.

---

Compare that to PS3 which is seeing what 4, 5 exclusive games this year? A couple releasing around the same time the PS4 is launching?

It's worth remembering that Sony will support their next gen system until it stops selling and becomes obsolete. It's stupid punishing Sony for supporting their PS3, something PS3 owners are grateful for. PS4, like PS3,2, and 1, will get the most exclusives per generation. Just wait, don't punish Sony for not being done with the PS3 yet.

Made your list a little bit more complete. Remember, those are all exclusives. Just the ones PUBLISHED BY MS.
Lots of XBLA games missing, Lots of 3rd party games missing (The Witcher 2 e.g.)...

But keep it coming!

So....shovelware on Kinect makes the 360 a good system? You realize 3/4 360 owners do not own a Kinect, and a Kinect peripheral cost more then a Wii system which has 40x as much shovelware.

Also Witcher 2 is available on PC, we're talking about exclusives right?

He did say "2x Halo" didn't he?

One would be hard pressed to call that compelling sofware outside of Alan Wake.

Exactly, this guy is hilarious.

So everybody should play Uncharted on Xbox right?

Do you know why MS and Xbox 360 were so loved by the devs and publishers? They didn't compete with them.

They gave them the system to put more games there without too much first party competition.

What's with the emphasis on exclusives anyways? To childishly brag about to other people that don't have Playstation?

If I want to play a game like Uncharted, I'll play Tomb Raider.

Heavy Rain, I'll play LA Noir.

Socom, I'll play COD.

What's the point of bragging about exclusives?

Why play second rate games when you can play the best on a Sony platform? Why settle for  an 87/100 game like Tomb Raider, when you can have a 96/100 game like Uncharted?

Plus what alternative is there for God of War? The Last of Us? LittleBigPlanet? Last I checked, there were only a handful of games which scored as well as The Last of Us, and not a single one of them was a 360 exclusive (3 were Wii exclusive though).

This is a silly arguement against owning a Playstation, especially now since the PS4 is $100 cheaper then the One. "Uh....I'll pay $100 more, for less games...exclusives don't matter."

How do you know the One won't be like the 360? The 360 started strong, and we didn't know that many of the "exclusives" were actually timed exclusives until part way into 2007, a few months after the PS3 released. I'll bet you, the One will follow in the same footsteps.

Hype, do you buy a game because of hype, or because of quality. If Hype > everything else, we would all be drinking mountain dew, eating doritos, and playing Halo 3.

---

As for the rest, what are you talking about? I'm saying PS4 owners don't need a One to play most of One's "exclusives." One can't stand up to PS4 because even with a PC, and a Wii U, you still can't play a lot of true Sony exclusives. Owning a PC is not cheating, most people have PC's, which can play modern video games, even One games (at lower settings).
