Why now? This should have been done MONTHS ago.

It'd be better for us, but it's there to make money in the end. Why wait 6 months for the EU version to come out at £45 when you can get the American version used for £8?

I've always wondered why Nintendo applied region locking to their home consoles, but not their handhelds, and then suddenly did with 3DS. So strange!
Also, like mentioned in this thread before, in the end the money and profits would still go to Nintendo and the devs/publishers, so there's that...

With the recent news of both the PS4 and Xbox One being region-free, there's been a push for Nintendo to do the same.
