I was just going by US price, buy honestly do u know anybofy that takes inflation into account when making a purchase? The PS1 and PS2 both launched at $299 here, idc what they cost in 2012 dollars because its irrelevent. |
Any price is valued relative to the cost of goods at a given timeperiod. So no, nobody takes explicit account of inflation, but implicitely they actually do.
This product is 300$. I could get this or this at that price, kind of thing.

Really? I would say the opposite. We have a long generation ahead, and when it gets to $199 it will sell well. It'll never do gangbusters no, but I'd be surprised if with a price cut and games it doesn't sell another 20 mill over the next 5 years.

Haven't you ever learned about inflation? That's what the 452$ and 400$ numbers are there for. |
doesn't change the fact that they started at $299.

| Conegamer said: Suggesting it will sell less than the GameCube, or even near it, is ridiculous. It should easily beat it, and double it, on brand power alone. |
I agree that it will easily beat the GameCube, but I disagree about selling on brand power if you're referring to the "Wii" brand power. That ship has sailed.

| ninjablade said: it will probably sell the same or less imo. |
