This, but also, as I have continued saying, I think it's seeming more and more as if the Wii U could potentially be THE console for digital indie games this year (ignoring PC and Steam of course, speaking strictly home consoles). All I keep hearing are Kickstarter funds that add Wii U stretch goals, or developers talking about up great Nintendo is being to indie devs now, etc. etc. More games seem to get announced as future eShop titles all the time. So to me, while Wii U might very well wind up lacking "on par" 3rd party support from big publishers, it might well make up for that with a wealth of digital titles.
And between you, me, and the internet, I actually kind of prefer that, but in general I tend to lean towards the style and sensibility most small indie developers go for, something that harkens back to that "old school" feeling of gaming, rather than the increasingly bloated big budget AAA "Hey let's make a playable Hollywood movie!" approach that the big publishers like to take these days. There are only so many big shooters and zombie apocalypse and Fast and the Furious or Grand Theft Auto type games a fellow can play.
So as I've said before, even if I all I REALLY get with Wii U, is Nintendo's first party offereings, and cool indie games on eShop, with a surprise 3rd party retail title that I'm actually interested in once in awhile, I think I'll be good. As much as I think it's important for Wii U to GET a balanced share of the big multiplatform titles, on the other hand, I haven't been interested, PERSONALLY, in games like GTA, or Saint's Row, or CoD, or Bioshock, or Metal Gear Solid, etc. etc. etc. etc. anyway. So while Wii U SHOULD get titles like that, I won't personally be "missing out" if they don't come.
