Forums - Nintendo - Wii U advertising ideas

Comparison might be kind of silly right now, since Nintendo has zero market share to gain. The other systems are not even out yet.

IF they sell like crazy even at their higher price points, then they might want to consider it. Right now just showcase the games and the unique features of those games.

Around the Network

They have a good amount of games to advertize now and more to advertize in the future... What are they waiting for? The WiiU has the most exclusives right now and free online play while being the cheapest!! Get that on TV now Ninty! WTH are you doing?

Take a note from Wii's "Wii want to play" adverts.

Show games and the awesomeness of off-tv play while someone else is using TV and/or no need for split screen.

Should show someones TV going out like mine did and switching to off screen play...  Have to get my LCD repaired as a birthday present.

I just agreed with u that games are more important lol

Assymetrical gameplay may be hard to explain but off screen is easy to explain

In simple terms, Nintendo shouldn't advertise any features, just games. Show Pikmin 3 being played only using the Gamepad or Wii Party U's tabletop games. The features are just extra bonuses that shouldn't be advertised to the extent of a commercial. Those games will make people look up the Wii U and let them see the features.

What is the point of advertising 6 month old games? They should wait for a big push this Holiday.

Americans love cheesy adverts, I would go with: We would like to play with U. Simple, as, that. Just make it clear it's a new console, highlight the game pad functionality, show the games. I'd rather make it look cool than try to highlight the "family fun".
