Forums - Nintendo - Wii U advertising ideas

Ive seen alot commercials lately for Microsofts Surface Tablet, where they compare it side by side to Apples Ipad and point out a few features that are superior. Even though Nintendo tries to avoid ditect competition, I think this would be a good way to advertize Wii U. Some features that could be highlighted are

-Price, $100-200 less expensive than PS4/One

-Free Online

-Off screen play

-Miiverse

-Nintendo TVii

-Virtual Console

-assymetric gameplay

Also a quick highlight of upcoming exclusives.

Take a note from Wii's "Wii want to play" adverts.

Show games and the awesomeness of off-tv play while someone else is using TV and/or no need for split screen.

Have these kind of adverts ever worked? They normally seem to be used by the "losing" side. Like Galaxy to iPhone, Surface to iPad, Mac to PC and Pepsi to Coke.

Just show Call of Duty -

That would work especially well for the gamepad usage.

Honestly Iim not sure but it doesnt necesarily need to be a comparison vid, just show off these exclusive features that most people have no idea about

I say just advertise the games, not the system.

The games will bring in more sales. Start with big campaigns for Pikmin 3 & The Wonderful 101 and then follow suit this Holiday with Super Mario 3D World & Wii Party U.

I would say Wii Fit U but I personally feel that Wii Party showcases the Wii U better.

I agree that advertising the games is more important but I still feel that Miiverse, TVii, off screen play and assymetrical gameplay are things that could help lure people in.

Games are needed first and foremost, the features will be more known naturally through word of mouth. What is the point of asymmetrical gameplay or off screen play without games that showcase it? Simply saying it isn't enough. You have to showcase them with high-quality games. Yes, those features are nice but trying to explain everything will overwhelm the everyday consumer.

I just agreed with u that games are more important lol

Assymetrical gameplay may be hard to explain but off screen is easy to explain
