Forums - Gaming - Xbox One Is Pricey Because Microsoft Doesn't Put Consumers First Like Sony Does

Nintendo puts consummers in first in a much better way. Wii u was $299 one year before those two even launch.

So you forget how MS made the launch price of original Xbox and Xbox360? The selling price of original Xbox is like 70~100 USD less than its production cost. Didn't MS put consumer into the first?

They rushed the console and cost their consumers hundreds of dollars in replacements. You tell me.

More of that "loyalty free" logic at work for you guys.

And LOL @ whoever said PS3 was putting consumers first because it was sold at loss. Yikes.

I never said Sony was putting consumers first, I said they made blu ray affordable to the masses. Without the PS3 it would've either died and HD DVD later on. Your beloved Xbox One has followed suit, so your arguing is helping nothing. Its quite obviously though that even though they might not always put consumers first that they are more aware and in tune with consumers in the gaming industry. Outside of the gaming industry Sony doesnt have a clue.

I wasn't talking to you with the second part. Though it seems I might as well have been. You only proved my point with the BR part though, so thanks.

Current gen hardware is $300. Makes sense the WiiU is also $300.

That price needs to drop because with the PS4 and Xbone coming out its going to get worse at the end of the year coupled with their real competition beating them at seven and eight years respectively and Wii U is still trying to offer the same games. Most of Nintendos top games are coming in 2014, so they need to cut that price.

las gen hardware (X360) is in the range of 99-150 dollars at a profit. Wii U is 299 breaking even.

Yes....Sony definitely did it for themselves.

Blu Ray Association members.

I'm sorry, Sony did it to benefit themselves and their Bluray parnets.

Not for consumers wallets.

Sony was right about their format choice in the end, correct? The format might as well hold more space rather than sticking with old DVD's. We're getting closer and closer to a no disc format, and MS had no plans for HD-DVD except to use it as a deterent for Blu Ray this gen. Fail.

A price drop would be nice an will probably come but they don't HAVE to. wii u is already 100 cheaper than the cheapest future competitor and that's a nice advantage.

I must say I'm sincerely curious to what are you gonna say when ps360 sells equal or better than ps4/xone in 2014.

as long as nobody shall get a second job.

Bold part is a presumption.

If it was accurate I'd imagine the Wii U is far more profitable than "breaking even."
