180!!!

I'm talking about links to back up your comment that MS had no plans at all for HD-DVD other than a BR deterrant. You said it so factually, as if it's not opinion but something MS said themselves.

Instead you're giving me links about MS pulling a supposed 180 regarding BR support. But even in that off topic tangent, only one of those links was from MS. And it discussed the 360. If MS releases a BR drive for the 360 then you'll have a point.

Second link. Read it.

Sorry, that is a link to opinions. I am not interested in what Michael Bay thinks about MS's intentions. So I am assuming it was just your usual loyalty free outlook on MS and their strategies. Thanks.

Loyalty free. :)

However, Microsoft has issued a statement today saying that it is not concerned with reports that the HD DVD will be joining the choir invisible. It said, "We do not believe the recent reports about HD DVD will have any material impact on the Xbox 360 platform or our position in the marketplace, As we've long stated, we believe it is games that sell consoles, and Xbox 360 continues to have the largest next-gen games library with the most exclusives and best-selling games in the industry."

In other words...Microsoft didnt give a shit about Toshibas HD-DVDs survival. It was only used to deter the Blu Ray format. MS is not "Concerned" about something it cared enough about to invest in add ons. A bit hypocritical, eh?

Didn't the Vita launch at $299-$349?... With expensive memory cards. Pure love there, nothin' but lovin' for the gamers.

More cowardice from J_Allard, on top of the fact that you apparently can't understand basic logic.

You don't sell a product at a loss to appeal to investors, so what do you sell it at a loss for I wonder? Hmm? Tell me J. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Maybe you'll even man up and quote me this time eh?

Fine, Sony wasn't right, MS turned on their word and accepted Blu Ray. MS is moving up in the world.

As for HD-DVD I never said they had no plans for it, I said they used it as a deterrent but no one wants to buy an add on. It was never in their true plan for the console. They tried to take out Sonys next gen format and failed.

Its Sony's next gen format? So I guess I wasn't wrong I said Sony was just benefiting themselves by pushing Bluray. Because its Sony's format.

Obviously MS was downplaying Bluray because the 360 didn't have it. Ultimately, more people are using streaming media and digital downloads to watch movies nowadays.

It makes sense to "accept" Bluray on XBO because its dirt cheap. Sony wasted billions and billions pushing it. Now MS taking advantage of this format that has become dirt cheap.

LOL...just say thank you for Blu Ray so you dont have to pop in eight Microsoft discs, shall we? God...sometimes you're such a dog. Pugs never smile. MS had no alternative. Its been said since last gen that MS was trying to drag us all kicking and screaming into digital downloads, but it will be secondary until further notice. MS has never been the conductor of formats.

Right... if it wasn't for Sony we'd be stuck with DVDs for games. Your logic is amazing.

MS had no alternative? But somehow the Wii U did. It makes perfect sense to use Bluray now because its cheap. MS isn't gonna lose billions trying to push it.

MS was dragging us into digital downloads? No, the market has gladly accepted digital downloads and streaming for movies and music. How many digital streaming services are available on the PS3? In fact, the PS3 has become quite popular for streaming. Not because MS dragged the market there. But because consumers want it.

What was being said last generation lol?

The PS3 has had more price cuts in the gen than Microsft who only really cut the price of the full model Xbox 360 once. Sony has cut the PS3 by $300 in price over since 2006. Microsoft since 2005 has only majorly dropped it once, and if you bought the core model you paid even more than the person who bought the full model. The PS3 was made to be the all in one box but as much as Sony wanted to have a cheaper price they couldn't they were already financially bleeding because of Kutaragis mistakes, which is why he had to step down. At $600  it was the cheapest Blu Ray player on the market.

Lol Come on you can't defend this one man.

Yes he can. He's part of the loyalty free gaming movement.

lol

The 599 wasn't consumer first at all. It was to shoehorn in Bluray. It paid off, but the gamble wasn't consumer friendly at all.

lol bluray was totally not needed last gen apart from winning Sonyy the format war.......

Tons of mandatory installs, because the loading speeds were inferior to that of DVD tech in the 360. And to top it all off the vast majority of 360s library was single disk, with only JRPS taking up most of those games that required multiple disks.
