Forums - Sony - Ellen Page claims Naughty Dog “ripped off” her likeness

Not the first "rip off", nor the last...for example, I was always under the impression that original Max Payne was strikingly similar to Mickey Rourke.

But are you aware that, in fact, the original Max Payne was modeled after Sam Lake? (The creative director at Remedy, the company which did the two first Max Payne's).

Yeah, I am - though, I always saw much more Rourke than Lake in that design tbh. Have they nudged design on purpose toward that, I can't really say...but I know all my buddies reacted the same when we first saw it (maybe most being old time Rourke's fans got something to do with that).

Didn't a lot of people bragged of the fact that the character was modeled after her. The two pics at the OP are not that telling but if you know her and see other pictures of the game, you can't get the idea out of your head

I've always thought that they intentionally made Ellie look like Ellen Page. The first time I saw the Beyond version of Ellen I just thought "Meh, Naughty Dog did a better job here". I guess having her in both games felt a bit weird but there could've been a 2 for 1 deal at the time.

Well imo ellie does not look very good while ellen page is someone I would date. I have also seen a lot of people that look like her though.

It looked EXACTLY like her until they tweaked the nose for the final version. Its obvious they modeled the character off of her.

There is a Sim's character in the original game - that looks just like me when I play a certain character. I would think it is just a coincidence except I did audition for the Sims game, wore really funky hair, and the casting director really liked me - that shows up in the game. It kinds sucks I get nothing for it, but what are we going to do - trademark our faces?

Also, I remember going to The Getty museum and seeing a 2000 year old marble statue that looks EXACTLY like my nieces' friend Heather. We thought perhaps it was a joke at first - and even looked for a hidden camera. It looks exactly like if someone made a marble statue of her. Quite amazing.

But this looks like a direct rip off of Page.  Not sure what she can do about that, but I see new laws coming soon.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

90% of the comments in this thread are ridiculous. You guys make it sound like she told ND to go fuck themselves. Calm down people.

And the original Ellie does look a lot like her, which is why ND changed her.

I think it's more like you don't expect something like this from Ellen. It as nothing to do with ND.

I don't see it. They have totally different shaped faces(different chins, mouths,  and cheek bones). But ok I guess...

It's actually even funnier. Elle of TLOU actually looks more like Ellen Page than the character of Beyond: Two Souls.
