Forums - Gaming - Did E3 2013 effect your console preference?

Well said ... I find it makes little sense to get both, to be honest. They're very similar and third party exclusives have run their course, unlike the beginning of last gen (seemingly at the time), so it is down to exclusives. I prefer Sony's exclusives a LOT more. I only dig Halo and Gears on X. With the PS4 being more powerful, cheaper and easier to dev for that makes it even more so. I'll get the X much later in the cycle when it is cheap.

I do also like how Sony seem to really be up for supporting the indies. Even though out of about 10 I play I only really enjoy 1, that 1 can be an absolute gem.

PS im really looking forward to Outlast! and it will be free on PS+!!! :D

I'm going where the games interest me with the Xbox ONE. A few more exclusives as well to stir up the list than usual right now too. I'll more than likely get a WiiU holiday 2014.

I did think Titanfall was the best looking game at E3, and Microsoft I think had the best games line up (if not for the DRM I even agree oon content and games alone MS won E3)

Now this next statement kind of makes me feel like a DUMBFUCK as what I class myself as, a dedicated gamer...

The Games alone werent enough to influence my final decision

What about after the DRM was dropped? Still not enough?

At start of every generation I am open to who will be primary and secondary (and possibly tertiary) systems.

This was easily the most defining E3 in my lifetime. I watched one company go "Pfft, screw you, just buy our old system submarine man." and another go "We support and want you to buy our system". Jack was my hero I applauded and arrogant people like Nelson and Mattrick became the knave.

I was perfectly content with current generation as really didn't see anything that made me sit up and go "I want that!" but Sony's conference made me want to support them and give them money in thanks for giving a damn about me. I will happily put down $400 for them in 2014 even if right now maybe 1 or 2 games appeal to me on it (Knack and maybe Infamous). I have full confidence in them in the coming years to do right by me.

Nope, from being a 'not a chance' im a possible customer. In fact as soon as they dropped the DRM I went on Amazon and preordered one. Though I am STILL on the fence, but if they get it out before the PS4 I will likely get one (fortunatly im in a financial position to get both if I desire) and I do love my new tech. But I was always getting a PS4, its just a case now of which comes out first and I will either have both, or just the PS4

PS4 at $400 is now on my radar for 2014, it wasn't really before. Xbox One was on the edge of the radar and has now dropped off.

No but it certainly reaffirmed my belief in Nintendo and PS. Wasn't expecting 20 exclusives in the first year so that was cool as well as all the pro consumer stuff and PS+ carrying over for no additional charge was great. Nintendo showed my 2 favorite exclusive franchises of theirs (Mario Kart and SSB) even though I didn't like the way 3D world or Bayonetta looked, so they looked good for my 2014 BF purchase as well.

Overall i thought ms conference was lack luster even though forza (and other racing games later like nfs and gt) made me forget for a second that i loathe racing games... A lot of their games just looked like current gen graphics. Top two games on x1 for me were dead rising 3 and spark. Overall though wasn't enough to win me over even if drm wasnt an issue. Mostly the hardware and multi-media social-media offerings mostly the same. However i get the sense thar sony is doing a lot more for enhancing the gaming experience while ms is just throwing crap together hoping it will stick... Tv just seems irrelevant to me at this point as i can watch live tv on my phone or tv... Switching so seemlessly is cool, but is only a bonus feature that i may use with an x1. Meanwhile sony has always proven more capable and advanced in the mtimedia department so im dont expect that to change. Overall sony had better looking games (graphically) is cheaper with better built in hardware, and acording to several developers a great devoloper kit to make the process easier and quicker especially for first party games.
