Not really. PSP is not nearly as popular as ps3 is, and pspgo was like 250$
So kind of a huge difference..

Also, pspgo didn't get the benefit of ps+.

They could release a PS3 mini. Composite only, no WiFi, no BluRay, no hard drive, no menu... Just the Cell.

PSPGO got a big price cut when it wasn't sold well but the sale didn't improve this just because the  problem is the digital only.

That's PR to people continue to buy PS3 until PS4 and didn't wait a price cut.

It's obvious MS and Sony will cut the price of the previous-gen.

While I know Lafiel is just joking, this is a ridiculous argument.
Why? Because today's digital doesn't reflect yesteryears.
1. We now have ps+ which at least I have used to download dozens of digital games for ps3.
2. Lots of people ALREADY have lots of digital content from psn on PS3. PSP was rarely used for digital since the space was scant for storage. Someone looking to pick up another ps3 could do fine with digital only.
3. Multiple gamer household: Someone leaving home and wants a ps3 can get this one, and since all playstation digital games come with 2 licenses, you could share games completely.
4. PSP content could not be transfered into digital.
5. Even after pricecut, pspgo was still significantly higher priced that a regular psp (you don't really know the facts behind your vague statements, do you?) The lowest pspgo ever got was 149$, while psp3000 was 129$
6. Used games on psp often got into the 5$ range. So cheap that I would buy games new, keep them packaged, and buy a used copy of the same game for sometimes 5$. PSPgo made it so that all psp games never dropped in price....no used games policy strikes once again.
7. A digital only 'on-the-go' platform (that only can use wifi), is a big difference from a digital only console sitting in a room with full internet access for 99.999% of its lifetime.

There's not really much you can say against this.
It's really a huge, huge difference.

Well do they Need a Price cut? The PS3 is selling good for a 7 year old console and in the end its more important for the PS3 to sell each unit with Profit rather than sell more Units. At least for PS3 case. Last gen is done, they have market share and right now the ps3 is a Money maker for sony.
