Sony UK: If just referring to the UK market, an official price drop is pretty pointless retailers have already dropped the price below what the official price cut would be anyway.

This is illogical since a PS3 is around 189 - 199 euros here for the 12GB and 239 - 249 for the 500GB. I actually think it'll be more interesting to just add a lot of first party games into the different bundles. 299  euros for the 500GB version including whole series (Resistance/Uncharted/Killzone + an HD collection for example)

About the 32nm die shrink it is in the Sony plans together with a Cell + RSX SoC.

Well that was a 2012 roadmap and like we know the new process not get ready fast enough to massive use... so I think Sony delayed their plans for over a year... 2014 or 2015 can be the time for the 32nm Cell.

And for curiosity... the complete PS4 APU have the size close to the first RSX to PS3... Xone bone instead have the size close to combination between Cell and RSX.

hmm, I think they will drop the price in November. Obviously they won't say they will drop the price now because people won't buy it right now.

It's like you didn't even read the article. PS4 will come down in price, MUCH faster than the PS3 did. Why? It's not using alien technology. PS3 costs are hard to bring down because of that Cell processor.

UK already has a bare-bones PS3. A price cut isn't needed there that much. In the US though, I expect a price drop this holiday.

That's a really good advantage because the die shring will be natural... AMD always will move to better and cheaper process... they already have plan for 22nm APUs.
