Sonic Lost World.
Both have lazy, low production values, but from what we've seen so far, Sonic is at least trying on the gameplay front.

Game looks very impressive and from what I was told by the Nintendo reps it was running at native 1080p.  I don't know why people think creating a functional 4 player 3D platformer is so easy.  Very creative levels from what I've played so far, and the four player co-op works really well. Most platformers can't even get two right.  People seem to be confusing "not galaxy" with "lazy".  I'd rather have had a Galaxy game too, but what's there is really fun.

Native 1080p? I'm a bit skeptical considering NSMBU was 720p, I'll wait for confirmation from another source until I'm convinced, this could be a PR slipup, like Black Ops II being anncounced as 1080p on Wii U last year. If it is 1080p/60fps, then it's not so lazy as I thought technically, it's just that the whole level design feels so safe and tame. Plus the music doesn't seem to be orchestrated like Galaxy's.

It just gave me such an uninspired vibe. As a 3D console Mario game I wanted it to wow me like Mario 64 and the Mario Galaxy games did, but instead I was utterly underwhelmed.

Dont worry Mario Universe, Q2 or Q3 2015 to coincide with price cut to $200

I really hope so. 3D World isn't enough for me. I doubt I'll even buy it.

Sonic easy. Nintendo thinks they can release a shoddy party game that no one wanted that is basically a level pack for a 3DS game. Sonic at least looks like it's trying gameplay wise.

Seriously, no one wanted 4 player local play in a 3D mario game, and THAT is your innovation? SMH

both

technically I choose both since I plan to buy both, but I guess if I had to choose I would go with Sonic: Lost World. I can't get enough of the blue blur, and lost world is looking to be one of his best adventures yet. I'm excited that it seems to be influenced by Super Mario Galaxy... ironically.

Definitely both, as they both look great.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

mario any time.

Mario. I never got into Sonic for some reason in my youth and it remains largely the same now.

Jazz Jackrabbit though owned them both!

I'm kidding, I don't want to be the most hated person on VGC ever!

^ Jazz was awesome, I remember playing him on PC back in the mid 90s. :D

I'm actually happy to see Sonic ahead of Mario here, the hedgehog deserves it this time, at least Sega's trying.

As much as I hate the direction Nintendo took with this latest game, I am somewhat of a (3D)Mario fanboy, and I've enjoyed what I played of SM3DL, so SM3DW is kind of a given. I probably will pick up both games when I eventually get the system, though.
