probably true.

It'll peak when MH4 launches then slowely go down just when PokemonXY launches to peak again and then slowly drop right into normal holiday where it will peak higher than anything previous for the console in every region, not just Japan.

I doubt it. I've never heard of Nintendo having enough consoles. They are always sold out.

I don't think they'll be at Holiday levels for four months. But they'll surely be very high for the few weeks following MH4 and then again after Pokemon X and Y. The Holiday sales will be superb, though.

Japan sales will be crazy but the West should have very good sales as well with Animal Crossing just coming out and Pokemon later this year and a few strong supporting titles like Mario & Luigi and Legend of Zelda.

Im curious to see what they have in store next year to keep mometum going. A small $20-40 price drop, maybe a redesign of the smaller version. I could see games like Yoshi's New Island, Advance Wars, Super Smash Bros, Kirby, Ice Climbers reboot, Pokemon Z, Dragon Quest XI, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Kid Icarus sequel releasing in the next 1-2 years.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Except that the 3DS has already fallen behind the DS and will never catch up, unless third parties make it their system of choice which would grant the 3DS a much better and longer tail end than the DS.

Anyway, I am not convinced that sales will be at holiday levels for four months straight. In Japan the holiday spike only starts to occur in December, so that's basically two months between Pokémon and the holidays.

I have decided that the 3DS will be the handheld of choice, since the Vita is already totally gone from some Walmarts. I was going to take a picture, but my cell phone was full some how. This year will change Americas mind for good. Kids will forget that they even have a ipad and galaxy, and whatever else spoiled American Children get these days because they forgot how to actually play and have an imagination.

Then 3DS will stay ahead of the DS. Pokemon in America and Smash for the older gamers, then Monster Hunter/smash/Pokemon in Japan.

Pretty sure 3DS has fallen well behind already. People forget the DS was crushing 100k+ a week in Japan like clockwork with Brain Training/NSMB starting in 2006 and never looked back.
