Based on specs of Nextgen consoles, My PC is more powerful. But will I be able to use my current PC to play 2016 PS4/XB1 games at better quality/fps without upgrading? Seriously, I don't know. Anyone?

i5 3570K @4.5 ghz & Overclocked evga Gtx 680

Hmmm...you should still be squeaking by with those in 3 years, but you might be in need of an upgrade. Just a tad.

I just hope i don't have to upgrage anything but the GPU even in 2 years, no problem. But this is the problem many people have with pc gaming. A highend nvidia gpu cost above £350. That's the price of the PS4. And Nvidia keeps on increasing the price of their highend gpus. Hopefully AMD keeps them at bay with their next releases.

Nvidia doesn't offer APU design chips(apart from Tegra), witch when it comes to sharing workload between cpu and gpu will be far superior to the standard gaming pc setup. Also high end cards today consume up to 3 times as much power as they did back in 2005, so really improvement in performance/power ratio isn't that impressive.

Not necessarily true. You have a PC, no? How much did it cost? Do you have any idea how much extra you would have had to pay for it to be gaming-capable? Yeah, probably not more than the price of a new console. And then there's the fact that online gaming is free on PC (with the exception of MMOs and such) and that PC games cost ~$10 less than console games.

i have a high end PC.

@bolded, if you are talking about 360+xbox1 then yeah. but when talking about PS4 and PS+ you have to take into consideration that they give you a huge amount of games for just 50 bucks which ulitmatly makes it much much cheaper than PC games. also, you can buy used and rent games on PS4

Nvidia is kind of preaching to the choir at E3. Try telling that to the masses...they wont care because they wont be willing to pay an arm and a leg for PC gaming.

actually, it all depends on the price of the PC. My PC for instance is more expensive regardless of how cheap I buy games on steam and whatnot.

Your CPU should be plenty for most next gen games. You could just replace that 680 with a 780 and be good to go.

That's the plan. Although, I'll wait for what comes after the 780. It's not worth it to upgrade to 780 with my current card IMO. Although I might not be able to hold out if nextgen games run like crap on my card. Won't happen I guess.

BTW I'm getting the PS4 at launch.

lol about people getting buthurt over Nvidia talking up their own platform. Man they really must hate it when the big 3 talk up their consoles, especially when they spout bull about the power of the cloud making their console 10x more powerful and shit.

That point about PS+ is true... But at the same time, are all those games something you really want? I was a PS+ subscriber for a year and there were only a few games I cared about at all. Of course if you have lots of time and interest for games, PS+ is a great deal, no arguing about that. But if not... Well, there's a good chance PS+ won't really be worth much.  And about buying used games and renting games, one could argue that on PC it is unnecessary when there's regular sales on PC and during those sales, you can get games for ridiculously low prices.

Correct. That's why I said it's not necessarily true. Obviously a top-tier PC isn't the only thing you can compare to consoles, though. And if you buy a top-tier PC, you're either an entusiast to whom it's worth the cost or you're ignorant in some way. Or you could pay some extra for a crappy PC, who knows. In that case, too, you're ignorant. I'm guessing you fall in the enthusiast group, though.
