God I hope Fable makes three million.. Molyneux said his ambitious target was five million, which I HIGHLY doubt Fable 2 will make. The reason I wont uber sales is simple. I could play sequel after sequel of Fable and never tire of it.

Id' say its not too good two of those other titles are multi-platform and sold well on PS3 too, as well as the fact that COD4 and AC combined platform sales dwarf GOW and other exclusives - signifying to developers its better to be cross platform than exclusive unless given loads of extra money. This applies to PS3 as well of course.

So really, Halo aside, what I see is that while 360 can deliver great sales (and PS3 is showing it can too) you're better of not being exclusive. Assuming GTA sells well on both platforms (which I think is a pretty safe assumption) it will only cement this fact further.

Still, it does show 360 showing better sales than Xbox for big titles - although I still think too many of its hits are in too narrow a set of genres for the console to achive massive sales itself. I also think that despite marketing spin otherwise MS's strategy of pushing for lots of exclusives has failed to pay off while the assumption that 3rd party developers would 'abandon' PS3 for 360 is now clearly a thing of the past.

The xbox does appear to be doing really good this time around, i just hope Fable2 is better then Fable 1, the game was extremely short and never even came close to Morrowind.

I have to admit that I never imagined the extent of CoD 4's success! It's a regular beast that game!

Yes Xbox definetly had a barrier that only Halo could pass, but it seems that 360 doesn't have such a barrier which is great.

I wonder if everyone noticed that 360 is the king of software ONLY in the US. Its software attach rate is actually similar to the PS3 in Europe and is hardly worth mentioning for Japan.

things are going well for 360. Lots of game sales. Gta4 should sell 5 mil. (I guarantee 1 sale...me!)

Good to see that the 360 is successful. It is amazing how much better it is doing than the Xbox. It still dominates in America. In fact among my gamer friends, it still has the lead, with 4/3/1 360/Wii/PS3. Because it is so strong in America, it is possible that the Wii will never be able to surpass 50% there.

The 360 is certainly a game seller, but will the system outsell the original? The Wii is poised to outsell the GameCube on a worldwide basis in 1 1/2 years. The 360... well, it should outsell the original Xbox eventually, but at the outset I thought it would have been sooner than now. At this point, it will probably take until mid 2009 for that to happen. And that is quite disappointing.
