Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One has “infinite” cloud grunt, power of ten Xbox 360's – Microsoft

If it's infinite, why stop at 10 360s? Why not 9000?!!!!!

Here's a thought: if this pie in the sky concept works in practice in the near future, there's no need for the XB1 at all. Think about it. All you need is an internet connection and the controller interface. The box becomes completely redundant and pointless as all the consumers needs is the controller, Kinect interface and an Apple TV like dongle/router to plug them into that costs well under $100 to manufacture.

If you think about it, there's no reason why the 77+ million XB360's can't be used as the access gate to the same cloud computing resources as the only difference would be the upgraded Kinect interface. No need for an XB1 to play XB1 games.

You could also use any Windows PC with the ability to interface with the input devices.

this is streaming.

the cloud has Ms is trying to implement is a way to unload some works that could resolve async while game graphics and model is process by the Xbox One.

the main difference between the two is the bandwidth usage which will be way less solicited.
