Sony COULD. Have they yet?

Depending on how this works, yes. They have. My friend has been bumming games* off of me for years now.

Granted, I can't share with ten friends. But I could share with another friend (or from this one, if the cheap fuck ever bought a game*).

Downloaded off PSN of course. I didn't want to muse on Sony's take into the next gen in this thread, but since it's been brought up... I do wonder if Sony is going to retain the ability to DL a single purchase off PSN onto 3 consoles.

As Jereel said in response to me: how insane would it be for MS to allow digital sharing AND retain the freedom to trade. Too insane, clearly, and rightly so. Sony actually does both, but digital sharing is only for games bought off PSN, and freedom to trade is only for discs. There's choice, if you like being able to trrade games, then buy on disc, if you have friends and want to share games, then buy oiff PSN. Perhaps that's why Sony is 3 to share and MS is 10 to share, because MS is all in for the sharing with both downloaded games and games on disc, whereas Sony treats discs and digital as different products.

Yeah, mods, this thread is a PERFECT example of a clear positive thing for gamers about the Xbox One and the usual Sony trolls are RUINING it by trying to make it a negative. So we really have to send a list of all of these instances in a email before anything is done? Because that's a lot of work when these same individuals do it CONSTANTLY on the site.

Yup.

I'm not going to post here anymore for the time being because of the new "XBONE" posting.

People need to be dealt with now before we go back to the old days of slagging MS off in every other thread with little basis and no interesting discussion at all and simply done by loser fanboys..

I just came back from holiday in Ibiza and logged on a couple of times when there to check what happened at E3 on a phone and the thread titles are just sad.

Talking on topic though, it's downright hilarious that the same people who hate the idea of used games sales because the pblisher won't get any extra money from each sale suddenly change their tune when things like this crop up.

This place is going to be N4G before we know it if action isn't taken right now. That is not a site I go for informed and sensible discussion.

Oh please, find me a place on the Internet where Microsoft isn't being bashed constantly right now. Some people are just thinking this one through without coming to hasty conclusions as there's just no way it works the way our greedy minds want it to, but "OMG your logic, it hurst me!".

I'm not defending MS, not at all and quite the opposite.

VGChartz has been pretty good the past few years in not having a silly number of topics dealing with the same negative issues. Sure there's duplicates but it's a breath of fresh air compared to the sites where the stupid fanboys post.

I just don't want it going like that. For me at least I tend to checkout the popular topics on the right and when lots of them have "XBONE" in the title and the OP is by a known PS fan it starts to grate on me.

Constructive critisism, great. Making pathetic posts for a fanboy agenda just to stir up the pot, annoying.

Maybe, with the new account system they will lock game for account(digital one). You 'll be able to download it many time ,but you will have to play it on your account it will hide for other account.

I think they talked a little bit about sub-account for familly and kid I am not sure.

so you'll be able to download it on a friend ps4, but he will have to use your account to play the game.

I would like to see constructive defense of the criticism, personally. And the pot is already boiling, in fact it's boiling like hell. You also really can't pretend people critising and making fun of Microsoft are just a bunch of Sony fanboys with no real reason to do so. That is just insulting. Go visit a few Xbox forums and then come back.

Indeed, it hasn't quite got to the levels of 2005-2007 here just yet so I'm grateful for that...to be continued ;)

Carry on downplaying guys, glad to know hypocrisy is alive and well. Sony made a statement about DRM and you all took it at face value. Several statements from Microsoft about this and they must be lying or withholding information. Yeah you don't look a little silly with that behaviour at all.

They have literally released barebone basic info on this feature, we don't know NEARLY enough about it to come to a concise, logical conclusion to how good it is or how exactly it operates.

Looking at everything from a logical standpoint, how most of the people are interpreting this makes no sense... It's literally too good to be true because the gaming industry more likely than not wouldn't allow it, due to how exestentially exploitable it is by the masses. Having a feature that lets you share games to 10 friends, anywhere, would quite honestly have the potential to cannabalize game sales in the industry, even if you can't all play the game at once.

And lets say this feature turns out to be just as good as everyone hopes it to be... Sony could easily impliment a feature such as this on the PS4 for digital downloaded titles. Sony has a similar game-sharing infrustructure already set up on the PS3, when looking at it's digital download stance. They would most likely just need some tweaks, and all it would need is a authentication system that would check the authenticity of the game every time you boot it up for instance, and the benefit on this is that they wouldn't compromise their DRM stance on physical copies of games. Best of both worlds in a sense, but of course this is pure speculation, which all of you are essentially already doing right now.

Don't see any reason to bring up Sony in this..>This thread is about an Xbox One feature...

The Xbox One feature is not specualation you can go the the official site and read all about it....claiming that Sony can just implement it..is trully pure speculation

Sony has been previously brought up into this thread/discussion far before I mentioned them.

And the existence of the feature isn't speculation, obviously, but the fine details are pure speculation! Not a single person in this thread right now knows how this clearly works, we don't know the fine details, if we did, we wouldn't all be arguing about it right now, would we? As I stated in my previous argument, this is far too good to be true as it stands for a variety of reasons, there will be a catch in some way or form. Also I find it funny that you avoided responding to the key premises/conclusion of my argument, classic lol.

You have no argument you simply want to downplay this feature

It's simple economics, if you allow one person to buy a single game and then share it to 9/10 other people, do you think publishers/creators are going to be happy about that? With increasing AAA budgets etc.

There is indeed more to this story than any of us know, because publishers would not want this to happen. That is simple fact. There is no bias or fanboy in that statement... just using common sense.

The reason people are querying this is they have the same concerns and want to understand more. They introduced an online console to prevent game sharing/trade-in's. So now they also had a plan (before all this blew up in their faces) to be totally opposite direction... don't see it.

Most of my friends who are Xbox owners - 99% of them have said, what MS are doing is a joke. The 1% are still defending the company to the hilt.

MS has had ALOT of abuse the last few weeks, and i have to say most of it is justified to some extent, and much of it is NOT from so called Sony fanboys. Of course some people might be relishing the fact they have screwed up bad, the simple fact is they have screwed up.

Now i know it might be gutting for some people to keep seeing negative stuff about a console you like, especially if you didnt particularly like Sony... but let's get real, lots of people are angry and claiming that its all Sony fanboys is silly.

MS needs to get peoples trust back, don't blame people for not trusting stuff they say, when they have said what they have said in the last few weeks.

I mean if we go off what they have said over the years... I mean it's not like Kinect was what they said it was going to do, most people with tech info know the Cloud is a misdirection... so are you surprised people don't trust them?

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

I'm sure there will be some restrictive factor MS hasn't revealed yet. Maybe the shared versions of the game are limited like the PS+ version of Drive Club. Or maybe you'll have to pay to play online or something. I don't see how this would be a huge detriment to sales or anything though. Most people won't use it, and plenty of people who do use it, would likely end up buying their own copy when they get tired of the restrictions. Especially in a big 10 person share family.
