I hear ya grandma. But the days of Nintendo creating new cutting edge IPs are probably over.. no? There once was a time when Nintendo's in-house studios didn't only make 'all the REHASHED BILLIONTH-TIME TIRED SHIT that people love'.

Also most of the companies you listed only produce very few titles and are a for a very niche market. Nintendo used to pump out games of all different genres.

They still do, Eastern European Sex-worker. You're just used to what they do, much like Nintendo is.

The current setup addresses your desire for new things, so I really don't understand why this thread even exists.

lol. Did you look through the list of games?!?! I'm not sure how you can compare Nintendo's Wii efforts to some of the incredibly innovative IPs of the past consoles. Nintendo introduced us to Metroid, Zelda, Mario and Kid Icarus (plus so many others) all on one console. Now compare that to Wii Party and Wii Music.!?!?!?!

You are not even trying to understand the words that I am typing for you.

Please put in some effort.

Ack, my mind is Hazy on the timeline regarding Nintendo's aquisition of Monolithsoft and DISASTAH. I know that game got some hate, but it was the closest we're going to get to a DIE HARD game without actually being one. Even the cheesiness was perfectly recreated.

The buy-out happened about the same time the DS was released: Disaster (and the fuck-awesome-as-all-hell Xenoblade) are 100% "Nintendo games."

Nintendo still innovates, except it takes too long to do so. Hence why we got 3D mario land or whatever it is called to try and fill a gap due to 3rd party exodus with a sub par mario before the real deal comes out (one can only hope lol)

Geez, all this negativity and hate has got to stop. Nintendo seems to get the most of it too, while Sony gets rarely any.

No negativity homie. I'm just looking back at all the quality IPs Nintendo have given us and I guess I'm a little depressed that those days of so many fresh new IPs are probably a thing of the past.

Don't you think that it is harder to create new IPs the more that they make? I personally don't care how many they make as long as the ideas are fresh with their current ones. They are a business after all, and making new IPs is more dangerous. I liked the idea of taking older IPs (Kid Icarus) and reviving them. THAT is something that I would be onboard much more on.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

You can only flavor 1 thing so many different ways. It's similar to Debra Baron's cooking on Everybody Loves Raymond. She would make Lemon Chicken 100 different ways and Ray soon lost interest. There's no innovation in repeating the same things over with minor adjustments. Ask iPhone users.

Do people think b4 they post? The further along you get with video games the harder it is to be innovative and create games fast. If anything the game creation process has taken more time. It isn't like CoD where the framework is just copied and pasted with other graphical updates. This is complete re-writing of code due to new branches, what ifs and all that nonsense. I'm really looking forward to the new 3D Mario World. I'll play it with my brother. It looks great and fun. Just the way I like it.

That's why game franchises don't go on for 30 years. The devs work on fresh new projects because the old ones become stale. Nintendo has gotten away with it for years and this time it may catch up with them.

Your argument is based solely on your opinion and not at all on facts. The proof of that is what you decided to list and what you did not.

What games did I miss bro?! I tried my best to name all the bigger games made by Nintendo on each console. I'd love to know some that I missed mate.

Innovation is seen in many different ways, and frankly it's strange there are MANY games you didn't include but for some reason you included Super Paper Mario... which makes your standard for innovation based on what exactly?

Doing something new?  If you say that, what did Super Paper Mario do that sets it apart from other games?  I can see what it did to set it apart from other PAPER MARIO games, but really you're going to have to explain yourself.

Seriously dude I found it hard to think of any new IPs for the Wii made by Nintendo. Super Paper Mario was a last minute edit. Also Excite Truck is a stretch as it is kinda just a spin off sequel to excite bike. I guess I'm just listing all the new IPs introduced on each console. Super Paper MArio even though it has the 'Paper Mario' name is really it's own series.

... so it's based off of new IPs?  If so, then it's obvious it will be more difficult later on for new IPs.  The start will obviously only consist of new IPs, then as it goes along, new IPs are harder to come up with as the company gets comfortable with its old IPs.

Also, you don't have Fire Emblem or Earth Bound on the list.

Also it 100% skips handheld games.

If it is just now catching up with NIntendo it should catch up with CoD pretty soon. Unless people are still blind to the fact that they are paying for a game that they already own. Nintendo has had a franchise that has gone on for 30 years successfully too. Nobody else can say that. They have to be doing something right you think? At some point the greatest game designer in the world, Shigeru Miyamoto, will become deceased and maybe Mario will die with him. I still do not see an end for Mario in my generation.

People have been telling me that particular sky is falling for the past twenty years or so, so you'll forgive me if I don't take your word for it.
