Duh, I didn't know you got a free game when you register your copy of the game.

That should have been promoted more. I may not be in tuned to everything Nintendo like some but if I didn't know I am sure many casuals won't either. That should be on the packaging (unless it was a very late decision).

That is a strong incentive to grab a Wii U if you were thinking about getting MK8 but wasn't quite sure.

Zelda:WWHD is a great freebie. Was thinking of buying it.

Surprised you didnt know, it was promoted quite well... well maybe just us gamers knew. But here in Australia they handed out promo material for stores to display about it and the game came with a paper slip telling you how to register for a free game. If you didnt own a WiiU the MK8 bundle was an awesome deal

The game is, for the most part, pretty awesome. It has a few negative points, such as:

1. The shitty, phoned in "Battle Mode". Why they didn't just have one of their many outside development partners work on a GOOD, REAL Battle Mode, instead of that phoned in garbage, is beyond me. I'm very disappointed by it.

2. Not a BIG issue, but the baby and metal characters are, of course, a waste of time, and wasting spots that could/should have gone to the likes of Birdo, Diddy, Dry Bones, Funky, Dixie, Magickoopa, King Boo, maybe Prof. E. Gadd, etc. I'm happy I have my Shy Guy, don't get me wrong. But some of those others should have been in the game, and NOBODY needs to play baby or metal versions of characters already in the game.

Other than that? The RACING part is incredibly solid, and in fact I'll go one better and say that it's pretty amazing, considering the fact that this game actually seems to reward players for being good RACERS, for the first time in the franchise since the N64 or so. Yes, random item madness (see: bullshit, aka: getting "Karted"), still can and does happen. But it does indeed seem to be at least SOMEWHAT more balanced/tamed. If you're good at Mario Kart, you can actually have a chance to excel, because there's LESS item fuckery, and NO ridiculous advantage to the bikes. Now all the vehicles are more or less on even ground, which is the way it should be.

So of THAT, I'm a big fan.

Plus, it needs to be said, this is also the first game since MKDS to have some truly inspired/imaginative track designs again.

So how do I get in on these tourneys? I noticed there are currently several and i lost track.

Just say you want in, and you're there!

Which tourneys do you want to take part in? The one today, the one tomorrow, Rol's one...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Just got my package of visual awesomeness in the post and the first thing I did is to register it to receive WWHD.
Now where are these tourneys going down?

It's ok. An incremental update but probably the best mario kart yet if you can overlook the lack of change. It has got a number of very good refinements.

Fun, but more of the same. Not sure how to rate it. If I'd only ever played console Mario Karts and not the handheld Mario karts as well it would probably feel a lot fresher but mario kart ds, wii and 7 are all similar to this.

They will take place today in this thread. All the times for most different timezones are in the OP.

All you have to do is show interest in playing in this tourney. Since you have, and others have dropped out, you are in.

I will be posting the Tournament code in this thread and everyone will have to search for it in order to find the Tournament. You can check to see when the Tournament is starting in your timezone by going to my OP.

Definitely the one today. Don't know if I can catch the one tomorrow though.

And since Rol obviously needs a beeting I will try to catch the one at thursday as well.

Gonna be fun... probably. I never ever play online. This will be pretty much my first.

Gotta train more.
