When will you be getting the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros?

Day 1 94 55.62%

In October 9 5.33%

Before the end of the year 10 5.92%

In 2015 2 1.18%

Never, I'm waiting for the Wii U version 52 30.77%

Total:167

I thought the new ZSS was much more similar to Bayonetta, what with those new boots and all. Bayo was the first thing I thought of.

On the topic of ZSS, I have to say that I am very happy that there are no more transformations. For some characters it frees up a move slot (Zelda/Sheik, Charizard) and for ZSS it makes her much easier to play as. I always managed to forget what I had to do to select her from the character select screen. Maybe I will actually use her this time around, I always liked her moveset.

So am I the only one who has realised Nintendo is ripping off Haloid?

What part exactly?

Are you that short sighted or just overly defensive for silly reasons?

It was a not a silly statement, it was an accurate observation.

The jet boots.

Space Jump boots have been envisioned as, well, boots at least since Metroid Prime (not sure if the upgrade had a boot shape in the earlier games. I forget what it looked like in Super). This is a logical extension of that, though i wouldn't rule out any Haloid inspiration either.

One of the users here has a signature that highlights the parallels. It will be interesting to see if it at all impacts Bayonetta's chances of inclusion.

Yeah, I saw that sig after I posted that...the similarities are hard to deny. Also, I highly doubt we will be seeing Bayo in Smash as a playable character. She could show up as an assist or a trophy but I doubt it. We will see what happens... If they were to include a Platinum character, I would probably prefer Wonder Red ^.^

Also, @ KylieDog: ZSS really hasn't been used in a combat role to my knowledge outside of Smash...its only natural that they would add things to her character...

The zero suit has never had such a thing in any Metroid game.  The yellow beam she had in Brawl was never in any Metroid game either and something very similar used by her in Haloid, though it was more of a sword there than a whip, visually it was very similar.

I'm just saying the idea of anti-grav boots in general (or the anti-grav function of the space jump being in the boots).

Haloid was, what, 2007?

I think it would be good cross-promotion for B2, similar to Roy being in Melee. She would replace Snake as the "mature serious" character (for how far either Metal Gear or Bayonetta go as "serious" games, and with the Fire Emblem characters being more pg-rated serious characters). The timing of the launches would work for it, too, with the 3DS version probably being around the same time that B2 will launch in Japan (August) and before the game's release in the West to get folks more pumped for it. Meanwhile B2 itself could then synergize with promotion of the Wii U version.

Sakurai was seen floating around the Platinum offices over the past couple of years, so he seems to be on good terms with them, which is usually how folks get into these games (though that would not preclude Wonder Red either, W101 just sold so bad, while the guys upstairs might like Bayonetta more for synergy purposes)

Edit: This is to say i don't see it as likely, but it's not so outlandish as she appears, either. She could be for this game what "Sonic" was to Brawl, the extra-secret third party character.

So are we going to be collecting 3DS Friend codes and NNIDs here then so we can have a dedicated Smash Bros players list??
Also Im going to presume tournaments will be set up here too??

Eventually, yes but collecting friend codes right now would be a waste. It's way too early for that and we'd end up with a list full of people who forgot about it once the game releases.
