We are led to believe that the PS4 is significatly more powerful (for harware launched near simultaneously) than XBOX one, and how GDDR5 RAM is much more expensive.  Microsoft will have a higher percentage of Live subscribers than PS+, thus greater subsidies for the hardware.

It seemed that Pachter, wrong more often than not, and wrong even on his price predictions, did predict that the PS4 was cheaper to produce and would have a lower price point.

How is it that the PS4 is more inexpensive to produce?  How is Sony doing it?

Kinect is not cheap.

MS inflated the price...bill of sale for the PS4 design was something like 275 - 280 per console...which was slightly more expensive than XBONE...

I can only imagine they are not spending time and money on a bunch of TV features, i dont see any other way.

Well the PS plus subscriptions will help that's for sure. That, and not shipping with kinect/ps eye.

I imagine Kinect is playing a big part in the price, seeing as it's force bundled with every XBone.

They are also willing to loose more money one the console, knowing they can make it back with the games. Which is the name of the game in this market.

PS4 does ship with the Eye.

is the ps-eye included in the bundle ? sony didn't mentioned it

There's no Kinect and Sony is probably losing money on the thing...maybe that's one of the reasons why online is not free anymore.
