FFXV for me won the internet.

I personally give Sony's conference an 8. I thought that Microsoft had a better showing of games, although I was really intrigued by The Order 1866. I will say that I'm disappointed if multiplayer is indeed tied to PS Plus, because even though I'm currently a Plus member, I still do not like the idea of MP tied behind a subscription. However, Sony's stance on used games means that the console will have a place alongside my PC and Wii U.

With that said, I don't know how I feel yet about Final Fantasy Versus XIII becoming XV, as I wanted XV to be an entirely new setting that scaled back technology.  However, I'm glad that there is going to be a Kingdom Hearts III.

+ Two punch combo from SE
+ The talk about DRM and used games was funny
+ Decent price for PS4
+ Good indie support

- Show should have been 1h. Cut the crap and get to the point.
- Pay for online
- What's a Vita?

8/10

7.5/10.......

..............

Then the price came up.

9/10.

I'm a bit bummed that no amazing new exclusives were announced for the PS4, and nothing new was announced for Vita (I think Sony is abandoning it), but hey PS3 is getting some really nice late life support..

I want to give it an 8/10 because they games didn't wow me, but the fact that PS4 is only $400, and can play used games, that made a HUGE impact on me.

----

Question is, can I pay for PS Plus on a monthly basis? I hear it's $5 a month, or $50 a year, so I think you can, and if this is the case, then I'm still happy. Problem with XBL was always that it only offered long term subscriptions. I'm the type of gamer to play a lot of online for a month or two, and then play single player the rest of the year, so this isn't bad.

Still I'm set on getting a PS3 first, going to get Destiny for PS3 and play online for free. $400 is not much, but I've had poor luck with first gen Sony consoles, so I'm going to wait it out a bit and enjoy my 360/Wii/PS3 and likely soon my Wii U for now.

Great system, that's what's the most important thing. I love how Sony listens

I was very cautious about this one coming in. Sony has a LOT to prove, a lot of answers to give, and especially a lot of clarity as to why I should purchase a PS4.

Positives:

Games, Games, GAMES. Holy cow was this E3 about them games. No motion crap, no PR #s, no crap.
No DRM, No always Online, No blocking of used games
$399 Price point is an awesome entry point
Kingdom Hearts III (a huge surprise)
Final Fantasy XV (hallelujah)
Destiny actually looks interesting
Indie friendly. So many indies.

Neutral:

Console design isn't amazing. I don't particularly care for the look of the controller. I love the dual shock but some of the new materials don't look visually pleasing to me. Then again I would rather it work effectively instead of look pretty.

Negative:

PSN Plus is now required for multiplayer.
Still not enough information how Gaikai actually works. I would have liked a demo of sorts to show off the technology.

Overall Sony came in well over my expectations. Massive titles like Final Fantasy XV, and Kingdom Hearts 3. A solid price point, and not blocking my consumer rights for corporate greed. Now the worst news of the conference was the fact that PS Plus is now required for online. I don't like this policy, but it is something I will GLADLY give up for my consumer rights, and for solid titles from Sony.

Solid 9/10! Good job Sony. One of the best pressers from you in a long while.

lol so many 10. I actually think that it's a 6. Most of it was boring. Then they announced no DRM it went up 3 points. After that they announced PS+ it went down 2 points. So 6-7.

haha kinda my thoughts exactly only saving grace is I know naughty dog is a 2 party studio now developing.. Polyphony will be developing guerilla after killzone etc etc

Objectively, Microsoft has the better games for their console's first year, based on what we know so far. Subjectively, Sony's games appeal to me more. Sony's decision to forgo DRM and online restrictions, as well as the $399 price point, scores them some bonus points.

I completely agree with the italized paragraph. Thats exactly how I am too.

Couldn't care less about online gaming, so if it is indeed pay to play online no tears will be shed.
It would have been a 10 if there were new vita announcments (Not ports).

Overall o solid 8 for me.

10/10. I would go with 11/10, but that's reserved for any conferences that contain Tales talk and information.

Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, no used game DRM, no required internet connection, and $399 makes Sony the winner this E3! I mean I'm sure Nintendo's showing will be strong, but it would require a Tales game to top Sony at this point, and that's extremely unlikely to happen with Tales games not moving to the next wave of consoles for some time.
