Microsoft just went berserk. I'll admit that. Cannot say that I'm too excited about the price or the online deal at all.
I'll eventually get a PS4. Nintendo has something that other companies generally can't match: a strong and loyal first party fanbase. This is good for Nintendo because they maximize profits due to the lack of having to go through a first party. But I'm not here to give a lecture on sales... not today anyway. What I'm getting at is Nintendo will be noticed. They have this shine that is hard to ignore.
No, they don't have the 40+ exclusive games that Microsoft and Sony have but what they do have is an extremely established brands of their own. Nintendo may not be that 3rd party God that is Sony and Microsoft but Nintendo will manage on their own if they had to. They'd done it before on Wii, Gamecube, 64, and even waaaaay back on that humble Nintendo Entertainment System. They know how it feels to go something alone by making the best with what hand they've been dealt and how to make it successful.
I think Nintendo will mostly benefit from its fans this year. The 5 big cheeses that might let Nintendo outshine this year are: Smash Bros., 3D Mario, HD Zelda(NOT WW), Mario Kart, and Pokemon X&Y. That's a great lineup by itself. In the end great software sells any hardware. This is what it comes down to.

Exactly what I clicked on this thread to say.
Agreed, besides, nintendo doesn't have any surprises we already know everything they will show.
They'll be fine I say, Smash Bros. will speak for itself honestly, along with others.

It could be because they are holding their conference tomorrow but I'm starting to feel like the media has ignored Nintendo. Nintendo has to go all out tomorrow otherwise they will be completely ignored.. |
Nintendo was going to be largely ignored anyway. Major media anti-Nintendo bias aside, nothing tops new hardware for E3 hype, and Nintendo's facing that from both competitors.
Their performance this year is best judged in a vacuum; their goal is to fix their own problems, not worry about the competitors.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

That might be true, but I hope Nintendo makes enough noise so that it would be hard for the media to ignore.

Not if Super Mario U is gorgeous, epic, and mindblowing. Which hopefully it will be. Trying not to get hyped...but too late. Hopefully not let down.

Having that game as one of the Best Buy demos would be huge considering the 30 million plus MKWii owners.
I really hope they can pull something out the hat.
My intention is not to burst anyone's bubble, but Mario, Zelda, Smash etc., I doubt is not going to have the impact some expect.
Nintendo need to surprise people with something really new, not the same old franchises.
These games obviously mean a lot to millions of people but I do not see journalist licking their chops over the same ole rehash on a weak system. At least the old franchises like Halo on the xbone is amongst the best eye candy available on a console so is worth talking about.
I believe this is part of the reason nintendo is being ignored. We all know what we are likely to get. Where is the suspense in that?
C'mon Nintendo. Give people more reasons to buy your console apart from Mario and Zelda and reasons why not to buy a $500 xbone or PS4 - whatever that price may be.
