Microsoft just went berserk. I'll admit that. Cannot say that I'm too excited about the price or the online deal at all.
I'll eventually get a PS4. Nintendo has something that other companies generally can't match: a strong and loyal first party fanbase. This is good for Nintendo because they maximize profits due to the lack of having to go through a first party. But I'm not here to give a lecture on sales... not today anyway. What I'm getting at is Nintendo will be noticed. They have this shine that is hard to ignore.
No, they don't have the 40+ exclusive games that Microsoft and Sony have but what they do have is an extremely established brands of their own. Nintendo may not be that 3rd party God that is Sony and Microsoft but Nintendo will manage on their own if they had to. They'd done it before on Wii, Gamecube, 64, and even waaaaay back on that humble Nintendo Entertainment System. They know how it feels to go something alone by making the best with what hand they've been dealt and how to make it successful.
I think Nintendo will mostly benefit from its fans this year. The 5 big cheeses that might let Nintendo outshine this year are: Smash Bros., 3D Mario, HD Zelda(NOT WW), Mario Kart, and Pokemon X&Y. That's a great lineup by itself. In the end great software sells any hardware. This is what it comes down to.
