Forums - Nintendo - Now that i think about it, I am kind of really disappointed that Nintendo is not having an actual E3 conference

We're gonna watch a streaming video just like usual but the video will show only games, no silly investors stuff. So if anything, I'm more excited we'll have a game focused presentation instead of the tradicional conference.

Bingo. As far as any individual person is concerned, this E3 is no different than it's ever been: business partners get their show, journalists get their show, we get our stream, the only difference is that it's being compartmentalized (and the divide and conquer trick for different audiences has shown to be a good thing in the past)

And don't forget canadians and united statians will be able to play the E3 games at best buy stores

My sentiment differs from yours, Spurge...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

Why would you feel any different? Nintendo is still hosting a stream of a Conference that will announce new games and show new gameplay. It's the same thing as always, just without the large, awkward, and sometimes ridiculous stage conversations between Reggie and whoever. (Also, no screaming when gameplay is shown... only a minor loss, really. Although it does build some hype.)

You can be disappointed all you want, but all in all, you're just raining on your own parade!

Nope, actually a bit tired of sitting through the full E3 shows, Microsoft unveiled a new console and even that was kind of boring.

Nope. The ND is the same thing.

Yeah, it's a shame. E3 can be so entertaining.

Can't say I am, since actually being a to play the games that will still be showed off is far far better. The money that woulda gone towards a press conference is probably being used for the Besy Buy demos, so a very very good deal this is!

A predicatable reaction to change.

Disappointment before you've even experienced what they will be doing. Tsk, tsk.

It would be just as reasonable to be going crazy with hype because Nintendo probably has too much awesome to even have a regular conference. Of course, the most reasonable approach of all is to let yourself be filled with the delight of slight anticipation and then reserve judgment of the new format until you actually know anything about what it will be. In other words, the approach almost followed by myself.
