Forums - Nintendo - Once again a Gamecube owner

Gamecube is my favorite console of all time and actually the first console I bought with my own money. I was 11 years old and saved up my Christmas/birthday money to get it in spring of 2003. They had a deal at the time if u bought a new GC u had the choice of a free game. The options were Super Mario Sunshine, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime and Animal Crossing, Sunshine was my pick. To me GC had the perfect mix of 1st party, 3rd party exclusives and multiplats. Sadly I sold my original GC and all its games back in 08 to get a Wii but I just repurchased one today along with Resident Evil 4, Mario Party 4, and Mario Kart Double Dash. Im looking forward to playing all my favorite games and maybe some I missed back then.

I think the Wii U is like the Gamecube in a way, which includes a bunch of 3rd party exclusives and so far the 1st party seems promising. I think Nintendo will realize this gen to make a new IP so, like Gamecube era, I'd expect a new IP.

I bought a Gamecube primarily because I wanted to play GBA carts on a TV.

Unfortunately, the GBA Player appears to have controller lag.

Everybody thinks I'm crazy, but most of my favorite Nintendo games were on the Gamecube. Sunshine is my favorite 3D Mario, WW is my favorite Zelda and DD is my favorite Mario Kart. GCN never got the praise it deserved.

Zippy approves of your choice of console :)

I still have mine hidden safely away.

Good choice, also my favourite console. Mines still hooked up along side my WiiU & 360.

It had the best Zelda (also my fave game of all time), Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime, F-Zero, Star Fox, Rogue Squadron the list goes on.

I sold one console once, my Nintendo 64 when I moved from Europe to the US, I still regret it, even if it was one of my least favorite consoles. My advice to anyone who has a video game console: Do not sell it, the day will come when you regret not holding on to it.

I don't know what to say, your Wii plays all those Gamecube games...

Thanks to backwards compatibility, this is not likely. Course, you have to wait and see whether or not the next console even has b/c.
