Finally, someone who shows intellegence. The PS4 will be no different than what is going on with the PS3. If third parties choose to interfere thats their negotiation or funeral with consumers.

Someone with intelligence wouldn't have posted that video to begin with.

It was flame bait. Nothing learned, no constructive criticism, no potential of leading into any sort of intelligent discussion.

The mods need to make a new forum called Flame Bait Crap. You can post videos like this. Maybe Somini can post more of those anti-MS blogs. It'll be grand.

What about you come up with something constructive then? Defend these policies if they're not that big a deal. Take the big picture and bring some arguments on the table to let us see what this constructivity you're talking about really is. Because deflecting everything negative that is said about those policies in the way you do isn't really what one would call constructive. And it certainly doesn't lead to intelligent discussions.

I just look at the Vita and hope the ps4 is the same way///

Side note to me it isnt a xbox vs sony thing.. i think this is deeper than console loyalty.. this is gaming our way of life.. its an attack on our way of life but whatever..these companies can do no wrong i guess

They are turning it into a war when it doesnt need to be an Xbox vs Playstation issue. We get that their fans but they need to derail the truth just they favor the console.

^This, Instead of being busy trying to justify the issue because the other company is also doing it. We should be wary about the mandatory DRM implementation. Have we become a generation of gamers, so compliant that we just accept changes that can easily step on our basic consumer rights? Is the sale of the consoles more important to us? The gaming community should stand up to this but it seems like brand loyalty is more important to others.

Of course. Because if people adopt the console no matter what, no questions asked, and the console actually ends up being a success, then you can be sure that it will be only a matter before those kind of policies become widespread accross the board on every new consoles (and other similar devices) to follow. We're the ones getting screwed. The consumers.

Some people don't see what the stakes are here, for us consumers. And some people say that "we" defend our consoles of choice no matter what. ¬_¬

They dont even get that this is about consumer rights being breached and I wouldnt be surprised if someone sues MS over intrusion on the first sale doctrine via the supreme court in the US. It protects Americans right to first sale and they have hindered it by demanding profit of a second hand sale, which is not a right of theirs. As gamers we all need to stand up for console gamer rights.

I swear I thought he was about to cry or pop a blood vessel. I feel bad to this guy, he was so loyal to MS for a decade. What a shame. I already told everyone that its common sense Gamestop is going to hike up prices on Xbox gamers just to survive.

I dont fell bad, he has other options, one being to just stop playing games. He is a grown man

Now with that being said, it was a good rant, and i at least learned what MS is doing now.

We all know hes a grown man but he's also a personality. He's called the Angry Gamer for a reason. All Sony has to do is say yet again at E3..."Yeah, we don't have DRM" and he's on the boat with them. He also explained the difference between creating an architecture which restricts your consumers and leaving the DRM to third parties, which is a great point. There is a huge difference. MS took it upon themselves to screw their loyal consumers royally.

Well this proves a point I made before.

Sony fans will defend Sony no matter what they do. Just as long as they can point to something else for being worse.

Sure PS4 has DRM, but since it isn't as strict as MS they get all the praise.

PS4 has no DRM, they confirmed that.

I just want to add that I live in a 3rd world country where consumer rights are not enforced and is easily stepped on. Our electric bills have dozens of extra charges that can't be justified, We can't even return products that we find inadequate to our use like you guys can do in the 1st world nations and the reason why this came about is because we let them.

I know gaming is a hobby but this is our community and something we all share no matter what brand loyalty you are on. We shouldn't let the industry just turn it upside down with blatant disregard to the consumers who made them successful in the first place.

If we give them a little, they will take a lot in the end.

Didn't feel like going through the 12 pages of replies but just wanted to say I find it ironic that this guy is saying how badly XONE will screw over GameStop, yet he encourages everyone to go to PC and use Steam...

"Because fuck you give me money"

Yep.

I've been seeing intense cases of Stockholm Syndrome lately.

There's no way to defend this shit. "Sony might do it too" is not a defense, it's sad, last resort damage control. If Sony does it too then Sony will be raping our asses as much as MS, that doesn't make being ass-raped any better.

Negatives:

1.- No taking your console anywhere with no internet (people on holidays, college students, etc.)
2.- No gaming after MS closes the Bone's servers. You will be able to play your NES games but not the Bone's. It's a long rental.
3.- Basically, no gaming for those who don't have an internet connection (rural areas, developing countries, people who just use 3G, etc.)
4.- No lending games (one time only).
5.- No renting games.
6.- No 2nd hand (most probably, as developers can choose to block it).
7.- Mom & pop stores closing because of this (and maybe large chains too).
8.- No reason to buy disks anymore, which reinforces point 7.
9.- Not DRM related, but still no clarification (even after this list) on whether Kinect can send information about age, gender, etc. to advertisers.

And I'm sure other things I'm forgetting.

Positives: None. Nothing. Nada.

I know I'll be pissed off if Sony does it too. Really pissed off. And unfortunately I won't entirely sure they're not doing it until it's 200% confirmed.

Ten years of loyalty, unloading on MS in 24 minutes.

As 10 years of loyalty for me for Xbox buying 350 games all news support them all the time I don't know what to do this time Microsoft taking a wrong way I hope they make to stay with them at what they got to show me at e3
