I've been seeing intense cases of Stockholm Syndrome lately.
There's no way to defend this shit. "Sony might do it too" is not a defense, it's sad, last resort damage control. If Sony does it too then Sony will be raping our asses as much as MS, that doesn't make being ass-raped any better.
Negatives:
1.- No taking your console anywhere with no internet (people on holidays, college students, etc.)
2.- No gaming after MS closes the Bone's servers. You will be able to play your NES games but not the Bone's. It's a long rental.
3.- Basically, no gaming for those who don't have an internet connection (rural areas, developing countries, people who just use 3G, etc.)
4.- No lending games (one time only).
5.- No renting games.
6.- No 2nd hand (most probably, as developers can choose to block it).
7.- Mom & pop stores closing because of this (and maybe large chains too).
8.- No reason to buy disks anymore, which reinforces point 7.
9.- Not DRM related, but still no clarification (even after this list) on whether Kinect can send information about age, gender, etc. to advertisers.
And I'm sure other things I'm forgetting.
Positives: None. Nothing. Nada.
I know I'll be pissed off if Sony does it too. Really pissed off. And unfortunately I won't entirely sure they're not doing it until it's 200% confirmed.
