The thing is just never really attach yourself to a company. You are dollars to them.

The trick is to look at all platforms and accept the best and worst for each system and realize what each ones does best. Sometimes that means not buying one of course, but you should never just say.

Same with sony and nintendo. Don't hold your eggs in one basket. If one starts doing the wrong things. Take note and move on to something without company loyalty being a qualm.

I honestly felt that everything sounds perfectly reasonable (and much better than the rumors that we were hearing). The only thing that is really not good is the 24 hour check-up to internet thing (although that also does not effect me either).

Truer words were never spoken on the interwebs! I mean i adore Sony, but i'de dump them in a heartbeat if they went this way. Companies need to be loyal to the customers, not the other way around.

Despite owning both consoles this is the way I feel too, although I would have no problems complying with those policies, the fact that most of the games I purchase are pre-owned, unless I want to support the developer or have really enjoyed the game previously. I think it should still be a legitimate option without being charged anything extra.

It's dumbass decisions that will cause a collapse, I think if they do go through with it, chances are me and friends will switch consoles despite loving the 360 as a gaming/media hub. And fact of the matter is, because we all use the 360 for gaming together, if one provides legitimate argument, all of us will switch, and none can be fucked to conform with dumbass policies which will impact our gaming/sharing.

It's bullshit that legitimate customers like me and my friends are suffering as a result of corporate greed. Will wait till E3 before making the final decisions, or even the release of he console, too early too make any definitive decisions.

I thought I would post an update in this as I had come very close to buying an xbox one recently.. with forza 6 looking cool, friends playing destiny on the one, halo 5 and I heard crackdown 3 coming out I decided to check into things. I was bummed out when i heard crackdown required live/internet connectivity, but that seems to be life these days. the backwards compatibility push intrigued me, but until there is more clear support and some way to handle all of the games i own on the 360 its a non starter (would be nice though as my launch variant 360 is acting strange as of late, and has a few minor issues).

what pushed me back from buying though is halo 5. no local split screen campaign, no local multiplayer and no lan play. what this is a halo game? thats what made it big, the hours i have burned on the couch with friends. halo , halo 3 both bought on opening night and played through with friends. ODST and Reach I soloed opening night 4 I picked up and co-oped opening night, all done local. taking my xbox and later 360 to another house or to a rented location to play 16 other and trash talk drink and yell, all super fun. thats not to say I did not have fun online, but removing those features kill a major reason to buy the console for me.

this has put it from I was about to pre order and buy 3 other games to.... first halo game since the original I will not get day one and beat that night .... and might not play ever... and to think halo was what made me pick the xbox over the ps II

out side of that a general nit pick ... i really wish a main line halo game was not squad based... kinda takes away from the spartan/masterchief mystique.. teaming up with the arbiter was bad enough... but 4 spartan II vs 3 spartan IV and an odst should not even be a contest.

Good luck! I am obviously around your age and it's something I have never been able to do. Some how or another, consoles just draw me back in. I am however, far less into this generation than every before but it mostly has to do with the whole destruction of plug and play gaming. These consoles don't feel like consoles anymore. They feel like finely tuned PC's that never have to have their video cards upgraded.

games for gold on the 360 has kept me going on it. general a nice selection of games i missed for some reason or another... and then games i own i just down load so i can be lazy and not get them from the shelf... I think the last  two games i  bought  for it were bioshock infinite & gta V .. that was a great swan song for the 360 ...
