Forums - Sony - Is Sony recovering their greatness? Does the PS4 have this generation locked?

As gamers domination is not greatness - we need a strong competition. Did you have less fun with ps3 than with ps2? Or let's say it in another way: Do you think you would've had more fun with ps3 if it would have dominated the market this gen like last gen? I just don't see the analogy with greatness and domination.

To fanboys though, greatness is domination. But you can easliy piss them off by disagreeing with what they're saying.

Yes. This gen is pretty much over, both home and handheld consoles

there is no such thing as a lock..

..but sony has been playing the game quite well so far. hopefully they can stay away from missteps.

I think it is 100% clear the generation is over, M$ might as well not release the Xbox, Sony has already won

I think that Sony has a bit of momentum because of how they've finished the past generation the strongest, but what that amounts to in regards to the upcoming generation is really still unknown. Hopefully E3 will give us a bigger picture of what each company is going to be bringing in the upcoming months, but at least for now, I don't think that any company has the next generation locked for a win yet.

.

Far too early to judge.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

just like VITA got the generation locked several months before launch.

Vita is a handheld and ps4 is home console it is a different story

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

on the one hand competition is good...

..on the other hand timed-exclusives, console specific DLC,  split multi-player communities are all downsides.  i hate the FUD sony and ms throw at each other.  to get the "full" experience i have to get CoD on xbone but destiny on ps4?!?  fuck that shit.    ..and with more and more games being community based the split userbase sucks.  more than just CoD/halo/uncharted should have a viable online communities.   if ps4/xbone could somehow have cross-platform multiplayer (which it won't) us gamers would be rewarded for it.

so yeah,.. or maybe at least.  i guess what i'm saying is there are both pros and cons.

i also hate retailer specific pre-order bonuses.  what the shit?!?

If Xbox One is not fail prone Hardware...good luck in the states sony..

I don't know why everyone thinks  the US is locked up.

After totally dominating with the PS2, did you think PS3 had the US locked down?

The US do not have loyalties like that when it comes to gaming. They never have.
