Tagged games:

Currently it has 95,37 % on on Gamerankings and 96 on Metacritic.
Impressive scores. I was worried that this would be more of a interactive movie than a game, but it do seems that Naughty Dog found the perfect balance between gameplay and storytelling. I´m definetely buying this.

Will it beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 (on Gamerankings) and GTAIV (on Metacritic) as the highest score ?

That's great.

Now we have to ask: does this stand up to the greatest games of all time? Is it genre revolutionising? I'm of the opinion that a game that just exemplifies the formula shouldn't get a 10.

Exactly.

Then many Mario games and other sequels shouldn't ever get 10s, yes?

This has nothing to do with sequels.

It has everything to do with sequels, but it isn't just about them, no. That still wasn't my point and you dodged the question.

Read this sh**, it's about adding features in games never done before or making things so practical and convenient that everyone follows. You can do this things in sequels. I personally see only more of the same action + story +  zombies (as if we hadn't enough zombie's this generation) hullaballo.

I think you're missing the point of the game. The Last of Us brings a certain intensity to gaming again, a sense of difficulty that we haven't felt since arcade games. It's not just another action game with zombies. The Last of Us puts you in a world where humanity is long forgotten and the only sense of humanity left is the relationship between the two main characters, Joel and Ellie.

You're not given anything to start out with, you have to scavenge for weapons and ammo and play tactically because you can't just run out guns blazing. You scavenge for supplies to make first aid kits and craft weapons, but don't expect to be able to take a break while doing so, you do all of this in real time. With the enemies constantly searching for you, lurking around the next corner. You're forced to think like a survivor, to act strategically. This isn't Call of Duty, this isn't Uncharted, this isn't Halo. You've got to be careful to survive, you don't have shields, you don't regenerate while crouched in a corner, and you certainly aren't superhuman.

I think this game is amazing, the concept behind it is just brilliant, it's no wonder why it's getting such universal praise. Nobody has dared to make a game like this, and to do all of this and tell a fantastically sad story at the same time is just unthinkable. I have not yet played the game, but I do understand it, it isn't a rehash of any kind, The Last of Us is a unique experience.

then give me a solid reason why it isn't?

I usually stay away from things like this but I kind of agree. You claim person A has not even played the game yet so how can they know about it. Then person B says that you have also not played the game yet so how could you know and says they don't really understand what you are doing here. Then instead of conceding to you very own logic that you JUST used, you tr to flip it again and ask how it isnt? So that begs me to ask since you say it is the same(and have never played it) how is it just more of the same?

I have to also add you even avoided anotehr question that was asked and then went around it when saying that no mario game or other sequel should ever recieve a ten....So all in all I agree I am also not sure what your agenda here is.

tired of people hyping unplayed games to the end. They can hype it after they played it.

Nah, won't beat those two, but it doesn't need to.

Ocarina of Time is the best ranked game as far as i know with 99

It is, and rightfully so.

I have to say that reaching 95+ with a new intellectual property at the tail end of the generation is amazing.

Seems like you speak of Enslaved, underrated title. Like i said before, from it's setting it's mechanics, it's nothing special at all. Sure the sotry looks promising but for me it doesn't look like a ten. I never actually played it. I only saw footage, i can't say anything more then that.
