Forums - Microsoft - Should I just embrace the term ‘Xbone?’

If i type X1 I think of a car, XB1 and xbox 1 makes me think of the original xbox and XBO sounds like a TV channel.. Xbone is the only abbreveation that immediatly makes me think of the new xbox, but I've been avoiding it as it came from neogaf and right now MS supporters are really up in arms against anything from that site.

Still, I personally hate that political correctness "ban people for using this and that term" crap people are suggesting.

Yes, I could, but what would be the fun in that?

I'm not quite sure when I will get into next gen.  It will depend on several things, some of which we will know better after Monday's E3!



 

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

I never really used it as a negative word....it's X-Box One......XBone.....just sounded natural to me.

Don't get the fuzz about the name. Isn't a bone just what it is, a bone? I'm familiar with boner though, which is something completely different cause there's no bone in boner right?

And to think no one at microsoft would have thought of that. XBOXONE XBOX1 XB1 XBONE xbone....

Either way, i like it, even if i would buy one i wouldn't mind being called xb one ' r.

no, not "how" it was devised, but "who" devised it

writing xb instead of xbox is standard and attaching "one" to that in word form is not strange either, especially because MS uses "one" and not "1" themselves (as far as I remember they even had that in their guidelines for PR to not use 1)

I don't think MS supports should let that get to them. I mean my country is called "germany" by people who haven't exactly been friendly with us all the time (and that's not even remotely close to what we call our country ourselves) - so it's inhabitants can easily be called "germs", like pathogens, yet I don't care at all.

Xbone is what I call it and I think x-bone in my head when I read/write it. I love it. It's the best possible nickname for any console ever.
