Forums - Sony - DC Universe Online and Planetside 2 Coming to PlayStation 4!!!

I'm gonna DCUO again just for the Booster Gold tours

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Ohh yes!!! Planetside 2 is the game to be present on the PS4:

-great game
-will showcase the next-gen leap
-strong community on the PC so I can assume, that it will become a game to rally the community on the PS4 as well and stick to the console, which would be very beneficial for the PS4

Overall great news!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Good... nice job Sony.

Seems like a waste when they could make new, better games. I wonder if square will do the same with FFXIVAAR.

I guess with the architectures the new consoles use, these will be easy ports of the PC versions.

Please read what you have written here and tell me if this makes sense.

I figured it was difficult to understand.

I mean

1. I wish they didnt bother with the ports and worked on new improved next gen versions/sequals to said games.

2. I wonder if square will do the same with FFXIVAAR.

3. I guess they did this because they are easy ports to do given the PC like architecture of the new consoles.

Surely wasnt that dificult to understand, but i understand that i wasnt clear enough.

There's really nothing stopping them from doing both. PC ports to PS4 should be freakishly cheap and easy, and who's to say they aren't making new games as we speak. Those games are fairly recent considering their genre. Sequals to MMOs don't release very frequently.

You know... it doesnt have to be a full fledged sequal but an expansion of sorts with improved textures/framerate/lighting and a bunch of new content.

This is awesome. So many F2P games coming to PS4. There's bound to be at least 1 game that I will absolutely love.

I've been hearing a lot about Planetside 2, so it'll be nice to finally give it a go.

Why would this be an issue? Sure PS4 isn't BC with PS3 but tis also x86 based as are the PC versions of those games. They are just simply giving you the PC version ported over.
Guess its something for single console owners to be happy over but it'll take more than late ports to impress most people especially if Sony is just going to copy what is already on PC anyway I might as well just stick with a PC to begin with. A 3 year old port of DCUO is good and people will rush out spend 600.00 to access a game they already can for free on PC, but a 6 month old port of Batman on Wii u is disaster and proof the console is last gen. Single console owner logic. I'll never get it.

That there is a HUUUUGGGGEEEE demographic. Anyways, these are mere additions to the core ps4 launch line up, the fact they were announced so casually and a week before E3 makes it kind of evident. Sony getting the lessor news out the way before E3 arrives.

planetside 2 is really nice. and just proves my point that with or without a needed internet connection for a next gen console, if you buy one without having internet, you will miss almost everything of the consoles so it shouldn't really make a difference.

purchasing one without the possibility to play all the indie games, f2p games, all the media stuff, multiplayer and whatever sounds like a bad investment because the console will still cost the same for those people.
