While their exclusives are great, what really shines for me are Sony's hardware and services. It would indeed be a dreadful day for gaming if Sony quit making hardware. PS3 was a great piece of tech, as was PS2 and PS1. PSN was a great service which let you play MP without having to pay money and gave a unified game experience with your friends. PS Plus was off the hook in terms of the value it game consumers. It has to be one of the most amazing services I have ever used in gaming. On top of all this they also have quality exclusives. If Sony did exit gaming, having to play exclusively on Nintendo's underpowered console or M$'s excessively manipulative money-grubbing console would kill my gaming heart. I hope Sony lives. Long live Sony.

There goes your credibility! If you have a gaming heart you would go where the good games are! You wouldn't care about tech. You would care about how fun and amazing the games are.

From my personal experience, good games come with good hardware. And Sony's home console hardware ALWAYS have good games, which is why I like Sony's hardware in the first place. Because they give good games. LOTS of them. First AND 3rd party.
While I do love Nintendo's 1st party the most, I would give up their home consoles anyday for Sony's because Sony's hardware allows for 3rd parties to bring about the amazing games they envision. The day Nintendo's hardware does that, I'd go exclusively Nintendo. But I don't think that day will ever come.

Well from MY personal experience better hardware equals worse games! Many Nintendo titles were done on consoles without cutting edge hardware. Look at the Wii! One of the best games (Mario Galaxy) were made on this console and still outshines MANY Playstation 3 games.
good hardware /= good games

I'm not madly in love with most Nintendo home console games (handhelds are a differnent story-Pokemon/The Word Ends With You). I tried Super Mario Galaxy 2, Zelda TP, Kirby's Epic Yarn, DK CR but didn't like them very much. The Wii was fun, but the 1st party games on it didn't make me go WOW. My favourite Wii game was Dragonball Z BT3, but that was also available on PS2 and the exclusive online mode on the Wii was garbage, which was the reason to play on Wii. Nintendo home console games haven't really appealed to me since the original NES/SNES days. I will give them props for making me a gamer with Super Mario Bros and giving me my favourite franchise of all time-Pokemon, but most Nintendo games just don't appeal to me anymore, and neither do they have the 3rd party support to warrant thier console a buy.
The 1st and 3rd party games available on PS3 appeal to me far more. It is simply a case of better hardware (plus better services)=better software for me personally with PS3.
