That's why I always make sure my stuff is shipped and sold by Amazon.
If you have to buy from a Amazon "partner" make sure they have high ratings. It's really up to you to be smart about your shopping.

AFAIK Amazon doesn't sell nor ship Nintendo accessoires in the US. It is all handled through 3rd-party sellers there.

Yeah Amazon lets some retailers store their merch in their warehouses. I guess that's the next best thing.
