Forums - Gaming - VGC Predict: How many exclusive games for each new console at E3

Based in ur set of rules, time exclusives dont count, correct? If so I'll say 6 for Sony (including Vita) 5 for M$ and 5 for Nintendo ( includin 3Ds)

Around the Network

Based on past E3 and in accordance to your rules;

Nintendo 5 for the Wii U
Microsoft 7 for the Xbox One
Sony 10 for the PS4

No offense, but the rules to this are kind of silly and restrictive. You might as well not even have included Nintendo in the topic since their whole business relies on their known franchises, most of which are first-party and thus, obviously exclusive. Of COURSE Mario, Zelda, Yoshi, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., etc are going to be exclusive. Sonic Lost World and Sonic Olympics have already been announced, Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 already announced...so that leaves, what?...the one remaining Sonic title and then whatever Retro Studios is working on (which would only count because we don't "officially" know what it IS yet)?

Again, not to be rude, but it's just kind of silly. If you want to talk which BIG third-party games that have previously been multi-plat but will now be snatched up by either Microsoft or Sony as a temporary or timed exclusive, then put that as the topic. Or, if you want to talk about "surprise" announcements (ie. games we haven't already heard as "confirmed" to be in existence) then say that too. But when you say "How many exclusive games for each console at E3"...then it's only fair to count Nintendo's stable of AAA franchises, of which there are plenty to be shown this year.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

I have two objectives here:

- Give some kind of measure of pre-E3 hype for each company. Frankly, we know what the second half of this year for Nintendo is going to look like, barring surprises. I suppose I'm missing out counting some fantastic 3D Mario trailer, but I have that rule because otherwise Nintendo wins hands down by virtue of being a lone wolf company.

- Point out that the number of true exclusives will be very, very low because of the need to cater to the 70m PS3s and 70m 360s vs a handful of new consoles.

The numbers are not meant to be like, lol Nintendo only has 3 they suck.

And yeah maybe those titles would work better, but I can hardly change it. Really I'd like MS/Sony to stop fucking with the definition of exclusive ("HD exclusive", PC/360 titles, timed exclusives, PS2/PS3 titles)

Thanks for clarifying. That makes a lot more sense. Sorry again, just my first reaction was like, "Oh great...another fun thread to talk about how no third-parties will support Nintendo, and they suck cause all they have are their "kiddy" first party games..." lol. I agree that many games this year will be both PS4/PS3 or XBone/PS4 or multi-plat with "exclusive" DLC and also some "timed" exclusives. Also, thank you for mentioning the "HD exclusive" label...always drives me crazy haha!

PS4 will have ND and another first party studio or 2 to show off that haven't been yet plus the unannounced FF game that we're supposed to be excited for. So I'll say 4 for PS4 plus those ones they already showed at the Playstation meeting.

Nintendo if we're not counting 3D Mario, Mario Kart, or Smash then I guess I'll say 2 because of Metroid and Starfox hopefully.

Microsoft have only shown 2 so I guess they should have at least 4 new ones to show off. I'll say 4 for Microsoft and 3 will be new IP.

So 4 games in a 90 minute press conference? Thats about 22.5 minutes per game and there are 15 exclusives that are coming in the first year of X1. Yeah, youre not thinking with portals.

I think MS are being tricky and some of them will come to 360, PC or both as well. Or they count timed exclusives.

I hope youre wrong but you never know with MS

So you mean on the E3 Press Conference alone?

If that's so, then

PS consoles/Vita : 5

Xbone: 4

For Microsoft I can't wait to see BlackTusk new IP and whatever Rare, Lionhead, and MS Victoria have.
Sony I also can't wait to see the new Final Fantasy game and some more new IP's
Nintendo should show off JRPGs.

My own prediction

Nintendo: 3
Microsoft: 3
Sony: 5

Wii U - 7
Xbox One - 7
PS4 - 6

I'd expect Wii U to have more due to the amount of multiplats on PS4 and Xbox One. I think the PS4 will have a stronger showing than the Xbox One, but Kinect titles will put the overall number above the PS4's.

I'm sure I'll be way off though.
