| TK14 said: No offense, but the rules to this are kind of silly and restrictive. You might as well not even have included Nintendo in the topic since their whole business relies on their known franchises, most of which are first-party and thus, obviously exclusive. Of COURSE Mario, Zelda, Yoshi, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., etc are going to be exclusive. Sonic Lost World and Sonic Olympics have already been announced, Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 already announced...so that leaves, what?...the one remaining Sonic title and then whatever Retro Studios is working on (which would only count because we don't "officially" know what it IS yet)? Again, not to be rude, but it's just kind of silly. If you want to talk which BIG third-party games that have previously been multi-plat but will now be snatched up by either Microsoft or Sony as a temporary or timed exclusive, then put that as the topic. Or, if you want to talk about "surprise" announcements (ie. games we haven't already heard as "confirmed" to be in existence) then say that too. But when you say "How many exclusive games for each console at E3"...then it's only fair to count Nintendo's stable of AAA franchises, of which there are plenty to be shown this year. |
I have two objectives here:
- Give some kind of measure of pre-E3 hype for each company. Frankly, we know what the second half of this year for Nintendo is going to look like, barring surprises. I suppose I'm missing out counting some fantastic 3D Mario trailer, but I have that rule because otherwise Nintendo wins hands down by virtue of being a lone wolf company.
- Point out that the number of true exclusives will be very, very low because of the need to cater to the 70m PS3s and 70m 360s vs a handful of new consoles.
The numbers are not meant to be like, lol Nintendo only has 3 they suck.
And yeah maybe those titles would work better, but I can hardly change it. Really I'd like MS/Sony to stop fucking with the definition of exclusive ("HD exclusive", PC/360 titles, timed exclusives, PS2/PS3 titles)
