Forums - Sony - Sony officially states that PlayStation 4 will not have DRM against used games

I didn't see anywhere in there that it said they wouldn't have any sort of DRM. What they said was if you need to register that is up to the publisher. Which pretty much means that if EA does it, Sony wont stop them from doing it.
Sorry but its pretty clear this is an open admission that it will in fact have DRM and there will in fact be an extra charge for those buying used if the publisher wants that.
MS has a system that lets 3rd parties decide = bad
Sony has s system that lets 3rd parties decide = Good.

I knew this would happen and even called it in another thread not even 24 hours ago. When and if Sony announced the exact same system, Sony fans would then be okay with it. Even think its good for gaming.

Lol at peoplebringing up online passes.

Online play is completely optional and adds nothing and there are costs associated with online fore businesses that can't be expected to be maintained with. Revenue i

Problem being PS4's might be fully integratd on to the system hardware itself (by disk readers) while the online pass is a software issue.

See unlike ms drm there is absolutely no reason to believe what you are saying. There is no evidence to support those claims. We know ps4 wont require online. How do you expect sony to unlock used games or get the fees without a connection

there goes microsoft chance!

So MS is FORCING it, Sony is ALLOWING it and Nintendo is saying, GTFO. Looks like Nintendo is standing up for the entire industry. I guess I'm going exclusively Nintendo this gen. It's time to make a stand.

The way you put that made Nintendo sound like complete bosses lol I like it!

Well.. Its not the same so you are wrong. PS4 doesnt have to go through a mandatory daily check up. And it looks like PS4 games wont need to be fully installed on the system

Actually, there are evidences. The RFID chip patent made by Sony is a big one, and it would work without internet connection to block used games.

By the way, im pretty sure that patent is old as hell and one came before the ps3 launch as well that sony neverimplemented l
