Forums - Nintendo - Potential 3DS Piracy Tool?

Wow, one memory-card per game? What's this, a second vita?! No, jk ;)
Well, it seems that it is real but once it is released expect clones which will give you browsers to select games from sd-card. And instantly, 3ds gets interesting for me...

So you (going by your sig) support the company that enforces drastic anti-consumer measures like no used games, kinect requirement, always online (sort of) and punish a company that doesn´t do jack shit of that magnitude by pirating games instead of buying them !

Wow !

Yes :) Well, I really don't bother no-used-games because I buy only new. Always-on is also no problem for me. What will happen to Kinect we have yet to see. Still I think it will give me games I am willing to spend money for.

The 3ds by now isn't *that* appealing to me but if it is cheap for gaming (meaning buying the hardware, the card and memory) I will think about it again. I also have a ds which never had a bought game inserted. But this time I will only buy the 3ds if also homebrew is possible, I think.

Nice I might be getting one soon .. Really that's a good thing for HW !!

Great logic. It doesn't affect me so I don't care. What about when it does affect you? It may not affect others so they wont care about you. Even if something negative doesn't affect you, you should still stand up for consumer rights.

And you shouldn't tell people what they should do.

There are definitely more inportant things to me I care about, for example environment-concerns or where my clothes come from.

Deciding for Xbox One doesn't kill people while other consumer-decisions definitely do. Ever thought of that?

Of course I especially don't care about your opinion or others that want me to understand how bad MS is. If they have good games, I will buy the system, I don't have to ask anyone for this.

Is it a coincidence that the two most ''pirated'' videogame systems ever are also the two best selling... ever? Totally off topic but how much would have Nintendo DS and PS2 sold if piracy didn't exist?

The Playstation, Nintendo Wii, Playstation Portable, X-Box 360, and to an extent GBA and PS3 were also easy to hack. Gameboy/Gameboy Colour is the only there which wasn't heavily pirated, but it had a lifespan of 12 years...so....yea.

lol not even comparable, maybe Wii and 360 but still not even close to (Edit:how much they where pirated-) DS and PS2

Well Wii and 360 can by moded via memory card like PS2 and PS1, so I would assume piracy was pretty high. Actually, you can mod them via USB, so moding a Wii/360 is just as easy as PSP/PS1/PS2.

I think the piracy rates for PS1/PSP/Wii/360 are just as high as PS2/DS, I think 360, PS1 and PSP specifically have a higher piracy rate then DS actually. Dunno exact rates though, how would you be able to estimate something like that?

Um.....

Did R4 really hurt 3DS sales that much? Last I checked Pokemon, Mario, Dragon Quest, and Zelda all sold very very well.

I dunno if the Nintendo demograph is really affected much by piracy.

R4 killed DS software sales in Europe. By like a lot.

No, Nintendo's shitty release schedule for Europe and the fact that DS games here are stupidly overpriced is what killed software sales in Europe for many games, by time Pokemon games would release here could import english versions from abroad for a fraction of the price, ebay was littered with imports.  The day Pokemon platinum released here for £35 in shops you could get it from ebay for £15.

Well Pokemon Platinum still sold about 4 million units in Europe, which isn't bad. What about Pokemon Black/White? It sold just over half a million units.

BTW, would a worldwide simultaneous release for Pokemon X/Y sold sales problems in Europe?

Ehh.. ahem! eh uh.. i mean, yeah you wouldn't :)

I bought mine 1 year ago, with mario land, zelda and RE-Revelations, good games.
The store owner offered me a hacking that would give me free DS games.
I saide: NO!
Then I tried to run Netflix and it did not work, neither youtube. (Maybe because I am in Brazil)
Then I went back to the store and said "HACK THIS FUCKER".
Now I am playing 300 DS games for free. Who is screwing who now Nintendo?? You bitch, who´s your dad? Who´s your daddd???
I am sorry, what was the question again?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
