Wow... Cool thing I noticed on Gamefaqs. Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the most popular game on there right now!

Looking up some QR Codes for patterns... can't wait till I can actually use them!

Also @Perfect Fruit Tree, I don't think planting a Perfect Fruit will always give you a Perfect Fruit tree.

From the only FAQ guide posted on GameFAQs which is apparently translated from Japanese (or appears to be).

"While harvesting fruit, carefully look for "delicious" fruit! There is usually one "delicious" fruit in your town when your town is created. Native "delicious" fruit sell at R. Parkers for 600 bells each. You can sell it, but it's probably better to save it until you get a Shovel: then you can plant it to create more! If you sell it, though, don't fret because another "delicious" fruit can appear on your native fruit trees in the future. Bury [???] hiryou or Fertilizer with a Shovel near a native fruit tree to increase the probability that the tree will produce "delicious" fruit.

A "delicious" fruit tree will bear fruit only four, five, six, or seven times. Then, it will shed its leaves. If you wish to continue to harvest, you will have to replant. Occasionally, a "delicious" fruit tree will produce "worm-eaten" fruit. Bury [???] hiryou or Fertilizer with a Shovel near a "delicious" fruit tree to decrease the probability that the tree will produce "worm-eaten" fruit."

That's so obviously translated from Japanese. xD

Somewhere I heard that it isn't a 100% chance. I guess this confirms my thoughts?

Not sure if it grows then it will probably produce perfect fruit (is that what it is called really?).  However, remember in previous Animal Crossings if you planted bells then it would grow into a tree.  That tree would sometimes have a max of 30k for each fruit (so like ~90k bells).  However, sometimes the tree would grow but no bells produced.  It was a little over 50% or so chance of tripling your money.  I believe the more bells you planted the more likely it was to happen.  If you only planted 10k bells then I believe 10k x 3 would be max.  So once you past 30k the value of each "fruit" didn't go up just the likely hood of it producing a bell tree did.   I believe it was done with the golden shovel if I am not mistaken.

How much does the game cost in Australia?  I heard you guys usually get screwed with high prices.  The game is 34.99 in the States.
