Well, there's a new save file button, but I'm afraid to push it in fear of it overwriting my current file. If it doesn't overwrite, then I'd imagine that save file will have separate town so you can be mayor, but I don't know any of this fact. Personally, I would go with getting two seperate copies of the game so you both can play together and customize your towns how you want, but that's just me.
