Of course I do. But the TV and sports are for the casuals and families.

Also EA Sports is big with the casuals just like COD is

The entire reveal was geared toward the casuals

That doesn't make sense. Sport "can be" for casuals but it isn't for them strictly.... If it was geared towards them then Kinect would have been there all night. I also disagree that sports games are for casuals. They attempt to simulate the sport into a game, try playing f1 2009-12. If that game is casual, I'll eat my own excrement.

Is casual supposed to be a bad thing to you people? I swear some people use it like it's a derogatory term. Xbox is focused on casual people because they make up the biggest potential market it's not hard to understand, a 1st grader could understand it. I get it you want a gaming machine some of you have never owned an Xbox and just make up petty little arguments to fuel yourself to bash another console, we all get the game that you play at. * Rant over *

It's not strickly for casuals, but it is thought up with them in mind. Microsoft didn't think of the folks who put 75 hours into Fallout and go "Hey you know what they need... ESPN"

And games like Madden is more of a casual game

Madden is 1 game. EA showed 4, then there was Forza and Quantum Break. Ok. 2 casual games in CoD and Madden = whole reveal catered for the casuals.
Good to know.

People who pored 80 hours into lost odyssey may like sports. Me included. Watching T.V through a device shouldn't be considered core or casual... It's TV!!!

Listen I'm not going to try to convince you. You already have your mind made up. You are determined to defend Microsoft no matter what and that's fine. If all the Master Chief's out there want to believe that the new Xbox is targetted for the core/hardcore gamer then that's their choice.

If you rather have a console with Kinect that allows you to say "Xbox... channel 29" rather than a GPU on par with the PS4, then great. I would prefer the GPU but that's just me

I'd want a gaming console that 's primary focus is gaming... not an after thought

I'm determined to defend MS? Wrong. You made an incorrect statement and were corrected. Get over yourself. TV isn't "casual" nor "core". People like to label things for whatever reason.. To feel more informed? To separate themselves to feel superior? Who knows. I notice you stepped away from the reveal being catered to casuals in your last comment too... Interesting.

The GPU argument? I understand the PS4 will be more powerful then the X1 but so was PS3 more powerful then the 360 and that didn't really have too much effect this gen, did it? 80% of games sold were 3rd party, 80% of the games will be exactly the same.

First don't compare PS3 and 360 to Xbox One and PS4. Development  for cell was the issue. Now both are x86. It's apples and oranges. Actually apples and... speed boats or some shit like that.

And you are determined to defend them. And you didn't correct shit btw

You could have liked everything at the reveal. But to say it wasn't geared toward the casuals is insane. I understand why Microsoft is doing it. The casuals offer them more money to be made. They want Wii numbers, not 360 numbers. Smart business

The problem with the reveal is that the type of gamer who tunes into a reveal like that is core gamers. The same people who look a couple times a week for info on a new console 6 months before it even releases. And they felt slapped in the face after the reveal.

Your looking at this as my opinion vs your opinion. You need to look at it as your opinion vs everyone elses. Go look on twitter or facebook. Go look on youtube. Go look at forums such as this. Sites like kotaku and see what the journalists are saying and the comments that readers leave. I'm sure it's just Sony fanboys though

And yes, if Microsoft comes thru at E3 it can make all this mean nothing. But we are living in the here and now. And people feel like Microsoft abandoned the core gamer.

If you want to believe that the reveal and everything in it was for the core gamer, then go ahead. After that I can sell you a bridge to no where if you'd like

Has it ever been good for a game company to go the arrogant route?

Lemme think. Sega got arrogant, but Nintendo always kicked its arse. Nintendo got arrogant and Sony kicked its arse, and Sega comitted hairy curry. Sony got arrogant and Nintendo and Microsoft kicked its arse.

It hasn't been a winning strategy so far. But Apple seems to get away with it, so perhaps someone else can.

That got my attention. Thats just a petty excuse to sit on your high horse. MS have said even before the reveal, that games would be at E3, 15 exclusives in the first year, 1 billion invested in games, numerous employees said they were going to deliever at E3....

But nevermind.......were in the here and now. It is stupid to not think about the near future. sigh.

Why is it always dealt in absolutes? MS is trying to walk the fine line between core and casuals, appealing to both at the same time. Reveal was for them, E3 is for us. In hindsight, they should have thrown more core games into the reveal, but the 50/50 approach seems to be their strategy, and while the shitstorm was bad, it essentially got all the casual stuff out of the way, paving for their best E3 yet, we hope.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

But they didn't watch the reveal. We did. Just like what will happen at E3

And he was arguing the reveal was for the core gamer. I have to disagree with that

I agree Microsoft is trying to walk a line between core and casual. But the reveal wasn't an attempt to do so... or a best a god awful attempt

E3 may change everyones minds. But we were talking the reveal. Btw he is the first person I have heard say the reveal was for the core gamer.
