Forums - Gaming - Rumor: Ubisoft revealing new racing IP at E3 called "The Crew", Forza/GT competitor

Copy and pasted from NeoGaf

Today, a source confirmed that Ubisoft has been working on an all new racing franchise called "The Crew," being developed by Ubisoft's Reflection's Studio. It's been described to me as a "realistic title, possibly being positioned against Forza and Gran Turismo."

Odd time to announce something like this in the midst of a new Gran Turismo and Forza =/

(If true, ofc)

Interesting. Not a sim-racing fan, but should be good to see it materialize either way.

I wonder if it will hit all consoles

Good news. I do like me some sim racing games.

Another one, we all saw hom NFS did when they attempted to become realistic... Then again, it can't hurt since the market isn't exactly overflowing with good racing sims (or good games at all, for that matter).

That's a terrible name!

As others have mentioned odd time to mention it and it has some stiff and very established competition already in that market.

Not normally one for racing sims, but I've been loving tilt-controlled, first-person racing on my iPad, and I would love similar game without the freemium bullshit.

If it comes to Wii U and supports the gamepad like it should, take my monies Ubi. And use them to make a new version of HAWX that also uses tilt.

I don't think it's a good idea, definately not good timing as well. The sim market is in grip of Gran Turismo and Forza, and even as much as Forza was pushed and bundled by Microsoft and backed up by great reviews it didn't sell amazingly. Grid tried to cover a slightly more arcade than Forza style and didn't do very good about 2 million combined, now Grid 2 is about to release and even though it's established the outcome is to be seen.

Plus we have Project Cars sometime next year to see how a new player would do, I predict it won't do well despite a dedicated community.

The sim games are so close to each other that people don't need two of those and will go for the safe option and choose Gran Turismo.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Might be good for Wii U owners
